it seems like a lot of people who answer are young, inexperienced in life, and using this as fun.

That's because coffee and tea form part of everyone's day and the answers are usually opinions. This does not usually require much thinking or research as compared to good questions

I think it depends on the time you ask your question. If you are me, I live in the Middle East and when I ask a question at around 1:00pm its still 5am in the USA and most people are starting their day in Europe. I get hits from Asia but when America wakes up! I get tonnes of answers sometimes. Once I got 70 answers! It all depends on the time factor.
On the oetherhand, if its a brain drain question nobody has the patience in my view to do research and find info unless its readily avavailable on the net. Everyone is looking for quick questions to answer unless its a question that truly interest them.

People enjoy answering easy and ridiculous questions. When it comes don't to a deep conversation question a lot of people stay out of it. Sometimes because its about your life and its a choice they feel you have to take charge a answer yourself. Stupid question we quickly answer because we know the jerk on the other side is just asking them to make conversation and see how many people will respond to them.

I feel people are too lazy to activate thier grey cells for 2 points.
Even if they write a big and well thought answer they still would have only 2 points.

becase people have to think about real questions and Tea or coffee takes 1 sec.
if you have to think for 2 points it takes longer to make the points, becasue that is all some people are in to

I think some people don't want to take the time to think of an answer and its just much easier and quicker to pick a multiple choice. Haven't you noticed some people don't even take the time to use "Check Spelling". :)

Because those answers don't require the answerers to think, research, spell or really do anything but give some inane answer.
