apparently it has nothing to do with imminent i was told .... but so far haven't been able to find a definition for it but american websites use it in the same way as british english sites and meaning in a grammatical point of view .. therefore should i take it that imminant is the american version of the british imminent?

I believe it's a mispelled version of imminent, meaning "ready to take place".

The American spelling for imminent is the same as the British. Imminant is misspell of imminent.

No, imminent is the same on both sides of the Atlantic. Never seen it spelled "imminant."
There is a word immanent, which means inherent, but no imminant.
