Absolutely not! that dreadful woman was responsible for ruining the Coal Mining industry, anyone remember the Miners Strike and the misery that ensued? She deserves to be buried in a cardboard box!

I have always admired Maggie even tho i didn't always agree with her

she did do a lot for raising the expectations of young women all over the country (and girls are still out performing the boys at school at all ages bar university)

her work on the international stage was outstanding too on behalf of the UK

she also had her work cut out in calming the raging inflation and the constant striking by various unionized industries (sometimes over very trivial matters)

people who slam Maggie often forget the hell that the old labour had allowed this country to sink to throughout the 70s.

State Funerals are only held for the Sovereign i.e. The Queen, Her Husband Prince Phillip and The Heir to the Throne. If the Sovereign so directs, in very rare cases, a State Funeral may be held for someone of great respect and who has shown great statesmanship. The last State funeral so held was for Sir Winston Churchill, in recognition of his leadership in WW2. There is no way that the same will be afforded Mrs Thatcher!!

Poor old Maggie gets a hard time, she had unpopular policies when she was in power and is still criticised for them today, however look at the dross we have had leading us ever since !
Of course she should be afforded the decency of a state funeral befitting the great leader of the country that she was.
Personally I didn't like her but that does not stop me appreciating her qualities of leadership !

She was of the view that terrorist should not be given publicity. According to her publicity is oxygen for them. I could not recollect exact words but her advice is worth considering these days.

we should all have a big street party when she's gone.
ding dong the witch is dead, could be the theme song.
she should be buried deep under one of the many coal
mines that she so ruthlessly closed down.
