Sammy Hagar was great by himself, but David Lee Roth sucked by himself.

Sammy is a total hack. They have s*cked ever since he came on the scene. Diamond Dave ain't been so great himself, at least since "Just a Gigolo" and that was a long time ago. Great bands are usually more than the sum of their parts.
