Employers (businesses) hire people to solve problems. Either the hotel did not have enough business (customers) or you are not the right employee for that position (no offense). Perhaps you should ask your GM what you need to do to get an increase in your hours. Ask if there are other assignments/duties that you could do away from the front desk.

Better still, improve your skills to make yourself more valuable to this hotel, another hotel or another employer (such as learning another language).

Even better, show to other potential employers that you are a worthy employee.

The best way to predict your future is to create it.

Cool down first.
Look for another job, second
At the same time: Talk to the manager and ask if there was any particular reason - Maybe it was beyond his/her control. But if there is a criticism, pay attention to it. Maybe there is a point for improvement here. Even if you move to another job, you can use this as a learning and growth experience.
Every moment can be a source of inspiration, positive change and a motivation to go forward.

Do not take your anger or frustration out on the manager. It certainly won't gain you more hours...likely it will get you reduced to well below 16. Also...don't be burning your bridges. You may need the manager to give you a good reference for your next job. Take your frustration out and you won't get that either. Be cool. It happens. You think it makes his/her day to do this stuff? It doesn't.

Was there a performance-related issue which you had not addressed? Is everyone at your level having their hours cut, or just you?

Be careful what you say & don't burn any bridges, as you may need a good reference if you look for another job.

First say thanks dude, then go apply for your unemployment if your hours are cut in half and you have enough time on the job you can collect. Maybe your GM had no choice.

Be happy! As long as they don't cut your wages you are okay.
Maybe they want you to get mad so you quit and they don't have to fire you for whatever reason.
