The name isn't decieving. Terrorist want to cause change by traumatizing people,.They attack innocents because soldiers aren't easilly shaken in their resolve and peolple aren't as outraged by their deaths. If they could they would attack only the most innocent and vulnerable of citizens as it motivates our sense of horror more than anything. The most effective Terrorists don't have to kill anyone. Not all terrorists are Muslims but the practice is very common in the middle east where citizens have little to no voice or power against their government. Terrorists are found all around the world, even in the Oval Office.

That makes no sense to say that all terrorists are Muslims; that is what the U.S. government and the media would have you believe. Every country has terrorists, you just don't hear about them as much. You should know that the U.S. has a bunch of terrorists, i.e, McVeigh, Unabomber, so called militia, skin heads, kkk, and their is the South American continent with Contras, Sandinistas, drug lords, present-day nazis in Germany, IRA in Ireland. I can go on and on. The aim of the terrorists in my opinion, is to create chaos, fear and to show everyone else that they have the power to kill.

The aim of terrorists is to frighten the average person so that the masses are unable to perform daily tasks. I saw personally how 9/11 touched the lives of all the children in one elementary school. Frightened parents checked them out and took them home to watch the day played again and again on tv and to this day many will not let their kids walk to school. They drive them and wait until they are in the building. The traffic makes the school more unsafe than the terrorists.

Not all are Muslims. Timothy McVeigh was not and Oklahoma City was forever changed by him.

Not all terrorists are Muslims, just the ones we're hearing about lately. Terrorism is a tactic, most often used by groups that are vastly outnumbered. Recent examples include the current struggles of Islamic Extremists, the Irish Republican Army, and the Guerilla tactics of the South American cartels. The overall goal is generally to make a statement that would rally people to their cause. It's a losing battle, because these "statements" are generally gross acts of violence against lesser defended civilian targets rather than the more difficult tactical military ones, and most people around the world abhor such actions as cowardly.

A terrorist is one who engages in terrorism, a broad and controversial category of acts, usually involving the use of fear tactics against a population.

It's not true that all terrorists are Muslim. For example, the Chinese, Russian or Italian mafia have also been known as terrorist. Or the irish IRA had also for a long time the title terroristic organization. Or that Timothy McVeigh and his friend Terry Nichols with the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. They weren't Muslims at all.

But, from recent news, I have to admit, that there is an increased number of terrorism coming from people with arab/Muslim origin, unfortunately.

They feel that if you are not part of their cause then you are not an innocent therefore, you are a fair target. All terrorist are not Muslims, that is just what we hear more about now. Catholics were considered terrorist by the English government in Ireland. White supremacist are considered terrorist in the U.S. and they call themselves Christians. Terrorist are labeled by their actions not their religion.

the last part is interesting, i think they wanna convert everyone to their own mentality, and they think that by killing these so called 'infidels' they are purifying their own religion, some of them beleieve they're going to be rewarded for it in the afterlife.killing 'innocents' doesnt really come into it where they're concerned. maybe its a means to an end you know? and like i said its interesting to know that all terrorists are actually muslims, my opinion is that maybe islam is an extreme religion, where you either are fully devote or your not. there's no middle ground and therefore if your gonna give commit yourself to god then you have to do it fully. Most muslims beleive what the terrorists are doing is a travesty of what islam represents, which is supposedly peace. but many agree with them. i dont know really why its always muslims tho, perhaps because its the only religion where EVERYONE collectively has extreme beliefs. personally i think its coz they're so easyily brainwashed by people who have the brain capacity of a toilet but there you go.

Well, muslims being from the nation of islam, have something called J-HAD, or ( HOLY WAR) which in there religion says that they should do whatever it takes to have theyre religion carry on, and have nothing get in its way. The muslim terroists are giving the other half of muslims a bad name. The muslim terroists, think that they have a job to ERADICATE all other religions. These other religions pose a THREAT in a way to there culture and lives. The terrosist basically have a excuse, they made, to go out in the world and blow stuff up, and kill people. They twist, take the writings from the korran' and use its writings to carry out there own, " HOLY WAR".

Not all terrorists are Muslims. Sure, 99%, but remember Timothy McVeigh? Their aim is to instill fear and disrupt daily life to the point of crippling a society and influencing it's government toward their goals and ideals. It worked on Spain. They pulled out of Iraq faster than a drunk stepfather.
