Pretty much most of America wants the US out of Iraq... but then what. Who will rule Iraq? How do they keep the country from civil war? Who is it that is still bombing Iraqi targets? What will be the USA's relation with Iraq once they leave?
It was a short battle to get Sudam out of power... but I think there wasn't a good plan as to what to do with a war-torn and leaderless country. If the USA leaves the country in worse shape than when it invaded, the rest of the world will frown harshly on that.
Without a powerful leadership and army to defend itself, Iraq would be at risk of being attacked by other nations (Iran, etc). The USA cannot let that happen or their efforts would be in vain.
Its the USA's mess, they have to clean it up.

They have found WMDs.
US Army is currently in Iraq at the request of the New Iraqi government to help stablize the country until they get their new military up to speed. By leaving now the terrorists - 90% who are coming in from other countries would succeed in destroying the newly elected govt.
Only 15% of Iraq is still under constant attack by terrorists - killing innocent Iraqi's who are trying to get on with their lives - the majority of the country has returned to everyday opperations with no bombings.
These extremists want nothing more than to kill those who do not share their views - if they weren't focused on killing our troops there, they'd turn their eyes to killing citizens here.

Oh be quite about oil, there not leaving becasue they have not finished the mission of creating a stable Iraqi military, and government, and they are also not finished restoring infastructure there. Thats why they have not left. And its notbecasue of oil and those who say it is are exactly why the US's image has been tarnished. And by the way most of the terrorists in Iraq are not even from Iraq they are from foriegn countries and have been brought to Iraq to carry out there "holy war". So they are not bearing arms becasue there family is being killed thats just an inacurate generalization!

The USA illegally invaded Iraq. No one knows why. It destabilised the country and demobilised the Iraqi army and security forces - the biggest mistake ever. They have been trying to sort out the mess George Bush created ever since. The USA caused this problem, and they have a moral obligation to resolve it.

We can't afford to pull out until the Iraqi government can stand on its own two feet. Any deaths we're spared by pulling out prematurely will be visited ten fold on our heads if we allow that country to plunge into a civil war. I was against going in there to begin with but anyone with the slightest understanding of the geopolitical nature of the Mid East knows that if Iraq falls into anarchy it will inevitably spread to every corner of the region. We have to stay there and see things through until the end.

Look Abu-Boo, we haven't gotten a drop of oil, and in the three years we've been there we've racked up so much debt, Iraq would have to give us free oil for a millenium just to make up for it.
We are there because it's stop #2 on the whoop a muzzie fanatic trail. Next up Syria and Iran, we've got Israel taking out Lebanon and that place full of Arab refugee's they like to call "Palestine."
Buck up, once the people in Iraq realize that Mo-Ham-Hid was a boring old ****, they'll embrace Starbucks and My name is Earl. Isn't the world a lovely place.

Well, Abdul, you made some good points, but you overlooked the most obvious reason the US Army is still there: power vacuum. Until the Iraqi government is ready and able to control its own population, we have to be there to plug the power vacuum, lest it fall in the hands of the Iranians. Keep watching Fox News and you'll soon see what I mean. Peace, brother.
