Nope doesnt work the same way.
Cable modem = cable cord
Regular modem = phone cord
DSL modem = DSL cord

Go to your local store, even a walgreens/walmart...and by a cheap cable cord for cable modems...you can find one for about 10.00 dollars or less...it will work

No for one thing the jack on the telephone cord is the wrong size. For another the wires need to be twisted to preserve the high speed signal.

You must get a Cat-5 (or better) Ethernet Cable with RJ-45 connectors. A cable should have come with your cable modem.

Not by using the cable modem. You would need a regular modem to use the telephone cord.

No.

You need a phone modem.

A cable modem uses a tv cable for data transfer.
This doesn't usually interfere with the television picture.

The port on the back of the cable modem that looks like a phone port is for an Ethernet cable, also known as an RJ-45.
If you try to plug a phone cable, also known as RJ-11, into the ethernet port, you will notice that it doesn't fit properly.
If it does fit properly, then it is probably not a phone cable.

Hope it helps!!!

Not sure why you would want to connect to the internet via phone (slow) when you have cable (fast). But as long as you have a standard working modem (with 2 phone connectors in the back of the computer - 1 phone, 1 line) and a dial-up account like SBC, then you can still get online using that method. Although as long as your cable connection is running and connected to your PC, the computer may not dial up, since it is already online.

How can you, atleast the name is 'Cable Modem, right? Cable modem needs a co-axial cable connection, same as your cable TV. And from the cable modem you need a RJ45 ethernet cable to connect to your PC.
