Some guy on here thought he would point out that he thought I was fat. In fact, I do not consider myself to be fat, only maybe compared to a size 0-2. I am a healthy weight with a BMI of 22. This is not what I would call fat and anyone who thinks this is fat needs a reality check.
I spent 5 years struggling with Bulemia and now I am finally a healthy weight and getting on with my life, and this idiot just thinks it's okay to bring me back down.
Obesity is not a good thing, but neither is this huge anorexic epidemic. What is wrong with being a good, healthy weight?
If some people just accepted that not everyone will be skinny, maybe more people would feel good about themselves and girls wouldn't feel the need to resort to such drastic measures in order to feel better about themselves.
Thank you.

Flyleaf, I had picture up which I have now taken down out of fear someone else might call me fat. I didn't realise how difficult it still is for me to deal with these feelings. In reality I know I'm not fat, but I'm just to easily influenced by what people say.

Honey...first of all, CONGRATULATIONS on dealing with your Bulemia successfully. Coming from someone who has suffered with anorexia for over 10 years, I know how difficult that can be and you should be applauded for your courage and perseverance!
As for the ignorant people who feel like they are so wonderful that they can put others down...don't even waste your time thinking about them. They are just that...ignorant people who think they know everything. You are a healthy weight and that is ALL that is important. You will have the last laugh when you are living to 100 and the others that that starve themselves are dead and rotting MANY years earlier. Continue what you are doing and don't worry about the ignorant ones out there. YOU are the educated one and YOU are the one that others will look up to. Best of luck to you and keep your chin up! Show off that beautiful healthy body!

The average American is considered over weight if you look at those height/weight charts. I am 5'6 & "Full Figured" and the chart says I am supposed to be 135lbs. I haven't been that small since I was 15.
Society gets so much of that skinny girl stuff shoved in their faces with TV (Victoria Secrets, Gap ads any show on WB or prime time) with all the "Beautiful People" that you forget that fashion models make up 1% of the people!!!! The Average American woman wears a size 14 and weights 145lbs.
According to Ford Modeling Agency in 1999 a "Full Figure Model" was considered to be 150lbs, 5'10 and wear a size 10. I have a friend who is in those guide lines and girl is skin & bones and no boobs to be found, how is that full figured?
Honey, be happy with who you are & be healthy. Eat right & exercise. If your doctor says you are healthy and you feel good to hell with what other people say or think!!!!!
Love yourself and the world will too...

Don't listen. These people have been tricked by media and our society into thinking that beauty is in thinness. Normal sized people have become the new "fat" thanks to the image of ultra-thin celebs and models. Slightly overweight people are now "obese." It's out of control. I myself am a tall thin girl, but even I feel a sting when I look at myself in the mirror or get on the scale. It's crazy that we feel and think this way. There is nothing wrong with being healthy, with NOT being skin and bones, in fact it's wonderful. Wake up people, be realistic.

Everyone is different. It's not good to judge people if they are "heavy" or "thin". Some people can't help it if they are skinny or "fat". I have a friend who is 5' 4" and she weighs 102 lbs., which is considered underweight but she eats healthy and does everything normal, she's just thin. I have another friend who is 5' 0" and weighs 140 lbs. Nobodys body type is exactly the same, and some people will just have to learn to deal with that.

Firstly, excellent job you are doing over there girl! It takes guts to recognize that you even had a problem and admit to it.
As to idiot people who think Kate Moss and her type are the ideal, I say kiss off to them. If more people would notice what those girls go through to look like that, they would know that they are not healthy.
Most men, men being the key word here, I know think super skinny girls are gross. As my husband puts it, "I wouldn't want to *sleep with* her, I'd need duck tape and super glue to put her back together afterwords." I love him. (the sleep with her is my editing of his less acceptable word) Every one of them says that they like a woman with some curves and meat on her bones. Almost every woman I know who the men drool over, isn't a size 0, or 2, or 4. They are all size 6's and better. There are a few exceptions to this, some men do like the toothpicks, and some like the plus sized women. It's a matter of taste. But the "perfect" men's ideal is pretty curvy.

"Some guy on here thought he would point out that he thought I was fat"
How does he know?...he can't even see you! Or is he judging by your BMI?...lol... You are fine, so don't listen to the idiots of the world. Generally the people who point their fingers are just doing so to make themselves feel better about their big noses, uni-brows, etc etc.
Congrats to you for overcoming Bulemia, and PLEASE don't listen to the haters... they should be taking lessons from you on having a good attitude and accepting people for who they are instead of what they weight or look like. :)

What the heck are you talking about, I am a skinny man by the way, but I find really really skinny girls disgusting. I like a little meat on a girl, more pushin for the cushion. Will you girls stop looking at magazines thinking thats what guys want??? We know that is not reality just like its not reality that I have a 12 incher. Give it up trying to be wicked skinny its not hot at all. Being too skinny takes away from the two most important body parts from a mans perspective, boobs and butt!!!!

Thank you so much for noticing.
I thought it was just me. I'm wear between a one and a three and all my friends are buying size zero jeans.
It's kind of like just when you get to be where you want it's just not good enough.
For the record though, I don't think extremely, unhealthily skinny people are attractive at all. They make me want to eat a Big Mac.

The obsession with being too thin is connected to celebrities (actors, models) who are encouraged to lose weight so that they will look thinner on-camera (since the camera adds 5-10 lbs.). For the average person, this creates an unrealistic ideal.

Because some people buy into the idea that all women need to look like the anorexic supermodels and if we don't then get ready to be labeled. Guys are fed the same images we are, but they think they deserve to have that image.
