Doesn't that sound good to you? Come on babies are cute! Trisha is questionable Jeremy Kyle is better. These programs are actually educational in some ways, they teach you about the society you live in. A reminder that some people are worse off than you. Anyway if they had chose not to get pregnant what would they be doing? unemployed watching Trisha? A student watching Trisha? Lets face it most people around the age of 20 watch a lot of day time TV, regardless of their situation. Oh unless they are the unimaginative work slave type that left school, for the 'real life' DULL!!!
Personally I chose to go to uni etc not have kids just yet, although did I really make this decision or was it just that there wasn't the right guy to get sprogged up by?
I think some of us girls are still genetically programed to want to have babies ASAP, but our brains tell us to take the pill! It is natural for girls to want babies whilst in their prime, its our society that is against this. Men don't have this as much as they can reproduce at any age.
I have always wanted a big family but had not considered that I'd have to start young for this, so it is a real shame to me to realise that the longer I go without having kids, the less I can have. (I don't want my first until after the age of 26)

First of all I am a young girl.....14 to be exact and have had plenty of opportunities to **** and have turned them down not because I didnt want to but because i had more sense. Secondly, who in the hell is Trisha? And Third, if the guy that got all those young mothers pregnant would stick around instead of being an asshole and leaving them for the worst then they might not have to get on wellfare.....My aunt got pregnant with her first child at 16 years old and is 32 today and supporting her kids just fine in the working world so dont feed me that **** about young mothers being bad people like you are better than them just because they made a bad decision.

Because they have no sense of anything. They get given a flat, benefits, and are the next generation who doesn't see why they should get off their backsides. It's not entirely their fault, as it's seen as normal. If you look to Belgium, Holland and the Scandinavian countries, they don't get a single penny, and it's frowned upon. It works, as they have such a low rate of teenage pregnancies or even older unmarried mothers unless they can support them.
Child poverty is only caused in this country because people who have never worked, and don't have two pennies to rub together have children and expect a nice comfy lifestyle paid for. America is criticised for many things, but they will give welfare to people who have lost their job, but it's only for the children they already have, and not any more after that. What a good idea!

There are no jobs on, near or around many large housing estates. 2,500 people going for 200 jobs when a new store opens, to work for minimum wage is not a wonderful career opportunity.
Plus for many people of that age group they used to have jobs but then the pits were closed. So they've grown up in communities and families that have lost the work ethic through no fault of their own.
Plus many schools are, frankly, crap. You get the odd good teacher but unless you get a lot of support from home theres still an anti-education culture in a lot of this country.
So some of you would see kids starve. Good for you, you warm and wonderful people.

I take it you know ONE girl who just wants to get pregnant, and never work in her life, and watch Trisha all day long. All things aren't true only from your limited perspective. Most young girls want to excel, have kids, and who doesn't want to not have to work??? EH???? Most of us expect to...jeeze.

We have a lot in our town I feel sorry for them .Some think its great to leave home get away from parents and do as they like. The reality soon hits home, not enough money no help and a demanding child you love but have to give all your attention to.I think they feel trapped and can only see years of this ahead.Who would chose that kind of life.No the grass isnt always greener.

I think its the piss poor education that is being doled out these days.
Only being taught enough to guarantee an O level with a stupidly low pass percentage, some pass with 25%! therefore leaving very little option to earn money after leaving school.
Baby = money, housing and lots of help from social services.
Its not their fault, it's societys fault for making it easy.
