how come Chickens cant fly, i meen they have wings!!

Chickens can fly! When I grew up on the farm we would clip their wings so they couldn't. Many domestic chickens also get so fat that they can scarsely get airborn. Tame turkeys have a tough time flying also, however the lean mean wild ones fly quite well. same goes for chickens

CHicken can get airborn to various degrees depending on size etc. They do not take off in flight like song birds. Really they do not need to as they do not fly to get food, and as domestioc animals they are protected from predators by people. Flightless bird are not that uncommon. Some species of birds that are normally flyers lose the ability to fly after a couple of generations if they are tranfered to a place without predators.

Yes they can definately fly! We had quite a few when I was a kid. The heavy big ones could only glide (sort of), for a short distance, but we had some light bantams, which could fly pretty well, up into the branches of a tree for instance.

Funny,but I had a problem flying out of my pen and the wire is 12 ft. high.. They can fly just not long distances.

chickens can fly! i have seen my own chickens up in trees, and no one threw them up there. they can not fly long distances because their wings do not support their weight enough for them to migrate.

wings are just for appetizers...not made for them to fly...plus they are really stupid to figure that out..
