Because of the media slamming it in our face nightly. Much like a child becomes desensitized to violence from cartoons and video games.

of course not.

there's nothing new about the world situation today. pick any date at random in the history of mankind, and look up the world events of that time. you'll find horrible things happening then as well.

if we are desensitized then its a coping mechanism we've evolved with and its a part of our DNA.

I don't think were empathic at all, more fake then amything. We don't do anything to resolve anything but as soon as it happens them we want to do something. It's probably we feel like we have to. Look at the tsunami, when it happend a huge outcry of support, now it's to the next news story while people still struggle. We are just greedy selfish creatures.

We are not getting the real new, so how can we become desensitized

Do you know that we get a sanitaries version of the news when is come to America and Israel declare war that is 0.5 % of what is really going on? so American people won't protest not in our name.

I saw the real news some time, and god that is ugly and scary.

I try not to care because I'm black. white people hate me 65% , and Arab hate black people 300%
