I'm with you, I will never understand if two people are together as a couple, why would they want to have others in their bed. Are they the ones that have no idea on true love? Why comit to a relationship when your not ready to be loyal to that one person. I guess I'm too old fashion. If I comit myself to someone in a relationship, He will be the only one I do anything sexual with. And if he cannot comit to only me sexual wise, then I'm gone! I will never tolerate it. Life is too short for games and trix is for kids.

Interestingly, surveys show there's a difference between the coasts (NY, San Francisco, San Diego, LA) and the heartland/southwest. But that extends to both gay and straight couples. Far more couples say they favor monogamy in those areas than in the major cities.
It's also true that since the start of the AIDS epidemic, monogamy has been 'more in fashion' than it used to be in the gay community. The continued push for marriage rights underscores this change. I happen to be in a monogamous (five years now) relationship; we have many friends in 10, 20 and in one case 26 year monogamous relationships.

No dearie, you're not,... and no I'm not campy in person either.
I don't date or cruise the scene much any more, even though my gay friends & my straight friends keep trying to fix me up with people they think would suit me best. Only my Best Best friends know that I'm much too eccentric to shop for a suitable significant other for me.
It takes all kinds that make up our niche of humanity... Hang in there, one of these days you will find someone of like mind and you can still live happily ever after.
I've given up, mainly because the majority of singles [ gay & hetero ] here in Sacramento are just down right sleazy & much to pretentious/immature (wannabes).

I dont think you are the only one, I have many guy friend that have been coupled for many years. They are monogamy crusadors. I think its just hard finding someone who is for you. If you keep faith that the right guy will come around. In the mean time, focus all your energy on preparing your life and changing the quality of your life... So when he arrives your ready....

We agreed that if something like that the place to ever take place back we'd tell one yet another and attempt to artwork it out. So, sure! Monogamy exists in gay relationships...

No you are not, there are plenty of gay men that believe in monogamy, however you would probally not find them in bars, clubs or baths if you know what I mean.

A lot of gay men usually want to party and have a lot of sex, or have open relationships with their partner. Its just weird. For me I want a monogamous relationship, but truth is, most gay men get tired of having sex with the same person, and they usually want something new. Which is why most gay men are living alone these days.

You're very much not. Today's culture perpetuates the stereotype that all gay men are promiscuous. This is not the case. I think, like in any sexual orientation, there are those who step out while in a relationship. However, there are many who remain devoted.

Well believe it or not; you're not the only one out there. It may appear to be out of fashion or unpopular, but I think it makes life a little less complex. I also entertain the idea, that it is much healthier.
