I planted potatoes and I heard that they would produce flowers then the plant itself would die off and this would tell me they were ready for harvesting. My problem is I have seen no flowers, but the leafs are already starting to die. Is this a problem?

Well, why not just go out and check the plants and see if the potatoes are there?

the potatoes must be seed potatoes&keep in a hill of dirt(mound)your right about the flowers you can only use store bought potatoes if they arlready to sprout vines but you must get them planted right away.

dig one up and see...no flowers, hmmm, might mean (gasp!) no potatoes! And that is too horrible for words. It way past flowering time, too.
