I know one is better than the other, but just what is the function of more or less amperage when purchasing a sweeper?

You want the 12 amp vacuum. It has more suction power and will clean more efficiently. The more the amps the more power it will have and the better it will pull the dirt, dust etc. from the carpets.

Vacuum Amps

The higher amperage means it draws more current. It is not a measurement of power, it is a measure of charge through the electrical system. If you take your current times voltage, your answer will be power. Since any vacuum you purchase will draw power from approximately a 110 Voltage source(your power outlet) you can compare the current each vacuum uses instead of power. It does not mean it will clean more efficiently like the first answer says. Efficiency is a ratio of output power(suction generated) to input power(volts times current). The larger vacuum could very well be less efficient, however it will definitely have more suction power than the smaller one.

Unlike Bhahagyam says, the power generated has nothing to do with how long the vacuum will run.

In essence Jesus is saying that, what good does it do to exorcise a person possessed with an evil spirit if they don't take on the body of Christ. That person void of accepting Christ, void of the Holy Spirit, allowing themselves to enter into the world again; may find themselves possessed with demons more powerful and plentiful than the former. If a house is possessed with evil spirits and an exorcism is performed, unless the house is anointed and the dweller of it doesn't change their ways, evil may well enter into it again more wicked than the last. If someone goes through a triple heart bypass, what good in the long run will it do them if they continue to clog their arteries. If someone is dying of lung cancer and they receive a lung transplant, is it beneficial then to let them continue to smoke 1, 2 or three packs of cigarettes a day. God Bless

yOU HAVE A VOLTAGE SUPPLY INYOUR AREA .Say a 110 V.
OR in some places 220 V.If the current rating is 12 Ams in case of a 110 v system its power will be 110 x12 =1.32 K.Watts .In the case of a 220 v.system the power will be 2.64 K.Watts
so with a higher power out put your vaccum sweeper can work for a longer time it can work with out heating up.If you want to purchase a low power vaccum sweeper take it see it will not be heated up .

The amps are a relative measurement of the power of the motor. If you assume that the motors are similarly efficient, the 12 amp model will have much more power to suck up debirs.
