Mr. Clean. It is a better disinfectant than Pine Sol (smells 100% better too) Of you can go to smart and final if you have one near you, they sell a disinfectant that has a great lemony scent. I use either or in my kitchen personally.

it's really good to see someone recognizing that the smell of chlorox is NOT good! it is a hazardous chemical. i use natural vinegar, sometimes straight, sometimes diluted. it doesn't leave a strong smell. i find it really freshens the air, and the smell disappears pretty quickly.

we have an 18 month old daughter and a kitchen that's really not ideal for more than one person to eat in. yet my daughter and i spend plenty of time in the kitchen, and right now she is at a stage where food gets all over. but we keep it fresh with nothing but vinegar (except we use some environmentally friendly oven cleaner).

baking soda also absorbs bad odors without adding other strong odors.

however, if you find you want a different smell, you can add a few drops of essential oil (i like orange or rose) or even just a bit of real vanilla (not artificial) extract to your spray bottle of vinegar and/or water. just remember to shake it up every time you use it because it separates.

as an alternative to vinegar you can try lemon juice which smells very nice. (i just use vinegar because it's handy and cheap).

another tip is if you burn toast or something on the stove, once you've cleaned it up, just set out some vinegar in a dish. it absorbs the burned odor, it doesn't cover it up with some other fragrance!

I actually have a house daycare pus 5 little ones of my own. 2 of that are pungent teenage boys! besides, human beings continuously tell me my abode smells reliable and that i imagine that's because of various causes. I do burn candles contained in the evening situations (at the same time as there aren't any daycare little ones) and that i mop my flooring 3 situations a week or more effective with the most efficient smelling Mr. clean or Lysol i am going to discover. I also use spray air freshener anytime i modify a diapers (all day lengthy!) and that i clean with bleach which kills each scent conceivable. the most important reason I skinny my abode smells reliable is because i exploit those Plug-In's. i am going to leave them plugged in in the back of the leisure stand and in the back of the sofa and the little ones won't be able to get to them. I actually have one plugged into an outlet that is above my kitchen counters and the little ones won't be able to attain that both. Having stated all that, per chance the 'funk' scent is coming from someplace certain. One time i found rotten potatoes contained in the bottom of my pantry after questioning why my abode had a 'funk' scent. try the rubbish disposable. from time to time rotten nutrition receives stuck in there. desire I helped!

Scents are an objective thing, but I've been using the Lysol 3 in 1 spray with a lemon scent. Sometimes I just give a blast of it to the kitchen sink and trash container for the purpose of scent. (I know that may not be the healthiest thing exposure-to-chemicals-wise, but I love the kitchen to smell nice.)

If you don't like the smell of bleach, try Pine Sol or Mr. Clean. If you can find it, Sp!c N' Span is good too.

Lysol Lemon
Pine Sol (sparkling wave is my favorite!)
Vinegar
Murphy's Oil Soap (reminds me of a citronella scent)
Spick N Span (take the k off of the first word...for some reason, Yahoo would not allow me to spell it out!)
