A friend of mine never wears a bra. She does have a small chest and has said that she's too small to need one. However I think it would greatly improve her figure (she's in her late 40's and is getting some sag). How can I tell her diplomatically?

I know it's really none of my business what she wears (or doesn't wear), but I've been watching "What Not to Wear" lately, and I've really seen how small details can make a huge difference. I just think this could really help her look better!

You need to take her to Victoria's Secret. I've been working there for years and this happens all the time! Women bring in friends for this reason pretty much every day. VS does complementary bra fittings (over the shirt so its not too personal), and have tester bras to try on so that all she needs to do is come in the store, and not worry about shopping around. Trust me, no chest is too small to wear a bra. Just tell her to come shopping with you at VS because you need some things and once she's there it will be no problem. And boy, does it make a difference in body shape. WOW!

Ask her "Why don't you wear a bra, again?" Then tell her you were reading that it isn't healthy for women to go w/o bras because it can cause their breasts to sag.

Or say you wanna go shopping and get some lingerie, then make an appointment to see a bra fitter at a good department store. I did this (Bergdorf's New York, I can forward a phone number to call and make the appt.) and learned so much about bras! It was actually fun. The fitters taught me a ton.

However, I understand your dilemma. A colleague of mine is saggy too, and it's such a shame she doesn't wear a good fititng bra. It looks bad under professional clothing - or any clothign for that matter.

Have her watch the seinfeld episode where the Woman Susan mishki(Oh henry candy bar heiress) walks around without a bra and Elaine gifts her a bra and hope she gets the point.
Hope your friend gets the hint also.

Break the news to her easily by saying" girl your my friend and i love you and you know that i will always look out for you but i think you need to start wearing a bra, no offense but the outcome of not wearing a bra will lead to humongus boobs" i love and i thought you should know. i think that's really a good way.

Suggest a good brand that you use. Say "You look good, but I think this bra might flatter your figure a little better." Go shopping one day and make your way to the lingerie section then casually bring it up.

Ask her if she's ever heard of the pencil test. If you can place a pencil under your breast, and there's enough sag to hold it in place, you should be wearing support. If she doesn't like regular bras, she could try a sport bra.

This is none of your business. A woman in her late 40's should be the judge of whether or not she wears a bra.

Just go to Victoria Secrets and try on bras and be like that works you for you. And slowly tell her that she needs to wear one.
