I wish they wouldn't use the term "British Nationals". They don't deserve it! These people probably don't even speak English! They are Pakistani Muslims (I thinik they said some might be Somalian as well) who live here - in "ghetto" like areas with lots of others of their own kind. They do not accept British culture, our way of life or anything about us. In fact they hate the West and Western people. Most of them only live here to take advantage of our benefit system, national health service and work opportunities which offers them a better standard of life than they'd get in Pakistan or Somalia.
They are just the same as the 7/7 bombers.
They are not native Britons. They are Islamofascists who have no allegiance to Britain. Sadly they have probably got British passports which means they get "categorised" as British even though they are basically foreigners who hate us and our country.

I know there are people of other ethinc origins who are born here and see themselves as British and are happy to live by our laws and be tolerant. They are not a problem. But these terrorist types do not see themselves as British. They live here, indeed they may have been born here but their allegiance is to their ancestral homeland (Pakistan, Bangladesh, Somalia, Saudi, Lebanon etc) and their religion. If you asked them they would probably not even call themselves British. According to a recent survey 30% of British Muslims condone the 7/7 bombings and want to live under Sharia Law. Do these people see themselves as "British" - I doubt it.

I think many, if not most people who really follow these things are well aware that Britain has many un-assimilated ethnicities within its borders. This is referred to as "backwash" from Britain's colonial empire days. No one should blame the "average Brit" for any of this idiocy.
By the way, isn't it true that the "average Brit" is now a minority population in his own country? I've heard this is so. Too bad, if true.

Of course we understand this. It is not all that hard to satisfy the legal requirements for citizenship in most countries. Doing so while maintaining allegiance to foreign ideologies more or less nullifies, at least in spirit, a persons citizenship. To me becoming a true citizen is embracing all that your nation as a whole stands for. We have the same problem here....those who obtain citizenship strictly for convenience or their own financial gain, who bear no allegiance to the country they feed off of.

If you listened carefully and critically to radio 4 this morning, you would have heard John Humphries ask of a senior police officer 'These people are all British? British born?' Clearly not one and the same.

duende_79 being British doesn't mean you were born in England alone. But these people do not say they are British unless it suits them.
I am only talking about the suicide bombers, there are scores of innocent people who are British but may not appear to be because of their colour.
Maybe the ones that pledge their lives on where their ancestors came from should have a name of their own. (not swear words please)

what 'latest' terrorists exactly? you mean the alleged suspects who have been arrested and not even charged yet? what about all the people convicted of terrible crimes like murder who are in jail and are British ... why don't you whinge about them for a change? are you proposing that anyone who commits any crime will have their british nationality removed or does this just apply to muslims, pakistanis and somalians. personally i would be glad if you left the country because if all the people like you left then the U.K. would no longer be a traget for terrorism and we could all live in peace and harmony without the need to convert to islam or any other religion.

Why are we having this Islamophobia. This whole situation has been deliberately created by governments who want us to be scared as we are easier to control that way. Don't forget that Nelson Mandela was classed as a terrorist at one time.
