I have an Acer that I know should be able to connect to wireless internet (because it has before) and now it won't, I have a lot of important programs and files on here so reformatting is not an option, any ideas?

one of the main problem can be that of the driver. your driver that runs the hardware could be corrupted....reinstalling could help...

Check all your connections, from the outside to the router, and then the switch where you turn on your wireless, on the laptop. How old IS the laptop?

You could try deleting the wireless connection and re-establishing it through the wireless connection wizard

Wireless has been mean to everyone lately, lol plug it in to a lan cable, forget Wireless.

maybe the wireless switch on the laptop got turned off, that has happened to me
