I'm sure alot of people would say "Born in the USA" or some country-gospel song about this being a "Christian" country... but I like the rebel rockers that have a more critical outlook on the country... I think patriotism is in our hearts when we get involved with politics and stick up for the underdog...

Self Evident by Ani DiFranco
America by Tracy Chapman

Any Song that takes advantage of our freedom of speech without apologizing for it is patriotic to me.

Good Question

Woody Guthrie wrote "This Land is Your Land in response to the pomposity exhibited by Irving Berlin's God Bless America.
When you think about it there is nothing particularly American about Mr Berlins' song. You change America to any country and it would still work or you could change Deity's and country's
This Land................ however is different in that it expresses a uniquely American sentiment- the land belongs to the people
BTW jayboo 7 You should really listen to the words to Born In the USA It is not a positive upbeat -wave -the flag song.

Born In The USA by Bruce Springsteen.

He sings about the AMERICAN, and his/her struggle against the system America has become. Patriotism lies in the people, not the land or the government.

Coming to American, Neil Diamond. It's the highlight song of nearly every patriotic fireworks display I've ever seen. Still gives me goosebumps every time it's played on the Fourth.
