I don't think you would look more professional if you're wearing a skirt just more lady like. I work in a professional area as well but i really am a jean girl. I just wear heals and a nice shirt most of the time. I like to be comfortable if I'm going to be wearing these clothes for more than 8 hours. You wear whatever you want and still look professional its just the way you put the outfit together.

It really depends on the person. Some women look better in skirts and others look better in pants. As long as she looks nice and is comfortable in what she has on, then she will look nice. Offices today are so casual anymore that you can wear khaki's one day and a pant suit the next and look nice in both.

Personally, I like to wear skirts, especially in the summer. I love the peasant skirts and I have some shorter skirts that I like as well.

It's all a matter of personal opinion really.

I think it depends upon the slacks and the dressiness level of the items. It also depends upon what you are going for. If I am conducting a meeting, I will typically wear slacks. However, I usually feel more myself in a skirt!

I think dressy slacks are seen as the most professional. Men sometimes think of skirts as flirty even if that's not how you mean them. The work place is still a very male-oriented environment most places.

Skirts. I know it sounds sexist, but the most professional look is a skirt at the knee or an inch below with a conservative top or jacket, stockings, and closed-toe, pointed shoes. I get this impression by looking at women executives. That's what they wear, so they are the most professional.

I think either are acceptable in the workplace. We are not living in a period that women have to wear skirts to be considered a lady..

If you live by this golden rule you will do just fine: Would I be comfortable wearing this style of clothing to a funeral.

Good luck to you.
