Well you have to have an ultrasound to determine the sex of the child and that is around 20 weeks. Or if you have any problems you can have an amniocentesis and along with checking for any problems it can tell you the sex of your child.

Ultra Sound is probably the best and safest way to know what you are having, but it isn't 100 percent and the technician will usually tell you they are 80% sure it is a boy or girl. If you want to have some fun, thread a needle an have someone hold it still over the palm of your hand. Let go of the needle and hold it by the end of the thread dangling over your palm. If it rocks back and forth, you are having a boy. If it goes around in a circle, it's a girl. Has always been right for me and all of our friends. It's fun and interesting to see the end result. Good Luck.

There are 2 ways to tell.
1 is an amniocentisis, they can do some sort of a test and tell right away if it is a boy or a girl.
2, wait until the baby is born.
I had 3 sonograms done that told me I was having a boy, I prepared for a boy, bought all boys stuff, and when I went into labor and had the baby, SURPRISE!
it was a GIRL!!
Sonograms are a good indicator, but are NOT 100 pct accurate.

You cant be sure unless you have an ultrasound, and it is clearly visible with that. There are hundreds probably thousands of old wives tale type stuff that claim to be able to tell, but that doesnt work....Its a 50/50 shot so its bound to be right sometimes but not at all a reliable way to tell.

An Ultra Sound is a good way of telling... The only problem is that some times the cord can be mistaken as a penis. The best way to tell the sex of your baby is to give birth.

You have to wait until you get the ultrasound to determine the sex of the baby at or around 20 weeks. I had a very strong feeling I was having a girl and I did...call it mother's intuition!!!
