Feminine products (pads and tampons) are taxed by the government because they are not considered a "required" product - what do womyn and men think of this? I think it is ludicris and horribly sexist! To quote a great Monty Python sketch, "I don't want to bleed all over the place!"

Some states have tax on groceries. I think those are fairly necessary items too. Why should products for women be non-tax items? Some would consider that to be sexist by getting special treatment.

That is the worst item to be taxed. We don't choose to get our period so tampons and pads should be considered a necessity and not be taxed. This is sexist because if men knew what women had to go through, they would go insane. It's honestly ridiculous that the government would tax something so important because no one wants to bleed everywhere and I'm sure men don't want that to happen either

In this day and age everything is taxed. I think they would charge you tax for dying if they thought they could get it although your family ends up paying the taxes for your funeral expenses.

I'd guess that they're not food (?).
Heck, even water is taxed. I'll bet condoms are also.
