The name of his race was Furyan. They were wiped out by the OverLord when Riddick was still a baby. The OverLord had been given a prophecy, saying that a male Furyan would be his downfall, so he killed all the male Furyan offspring and the race was wiped out. That's what the flashbacks in the movie clue you into.

Well, technically, that one guy who died at the end by walking out into the heat and got vaporized was a Furian as well, but he was "assimilated". I assume Riddic was the last free one, but I'd bet there are still several in the ranks of the necromongers.

Furian. And there are 2 more scripts!! He (Vin) apparently calls them C-1, C-2 and C-3. Apparently (www.imdb.com) the second one he takes his new 'people' that he won to the underworld, and in the 3rd one he goes back to the planet he was born on. (Fury?) Don't know if Dame Judi will be in them, but would be great if she was.
