Basically christians believe that the world was created in 7 days. BUT we're never told in the bible how long the days are. Chances are each day was about 40million years. How else could Dinosaurs be made one day and humans the next? Think about it ;)
Or! By Humans the bible means Apes which evolved into Humans?
Who knows? Not me. Do you?

People will believe in many different things. But that doesnt mean that the Bible isnt true and it doesnt mean that the Bible is true. The Bible is true for other reasons and the Bible even talks about very large animals, it doesnt use the word dinosaur but there were very large creatures, even those that breathed fire !

Because religious indoctrination can often override even the most basic of scientific knowledge. It's easier to believe in the bible than it is to consider that no God exists. Or that God doesn't exist exactly the way the bible portrayed him.
Many proponents of a literal reading of the bible tend to be ill-educated. I don't mean that as an insult. It's just a simple fact that is exposed whenever you try and speak to them about things such as dinosaurs.

They get that impression because they don't read enough of their own Bible..There is a verse which explains this feature most thoroughly. It is; "Each moment is as a 1,000 years." Even a calculater doesn't compute that high. Considering the number of moments in a day.. just try for seven days. Astronomical figures.

One of the reasons I'm not religious - I neither want nor need some heavily slewed book or preacher, or politician for that matter, telling me how to think and what to believe in...
That said, not above threatening to pull the wings off the tooth fairy or send Santas Claus an email when the kids are naughty :D

some zealous christians believe in a passage when it was mentioned that day for God be 1000 yrs. You have to realize that when the book was written wasnt a call for geologists and archeologists. and the concept of civilization was fairly new. so dont mind the crazies. some of us christians pay them no mind as well.

Because they are unable to go beyond their belief that the bible is the only truth.
I guess they are either brainwashed or scared of being proved wrong.

people have all sorts of beliefs...many put their faith in scientists many in religion..many in politicians...some people prefer to try and find out as much as they can fo rthemselves.....i'm not suggesting that either way is better or smarter or more right but simply that people are as diverse in their thinking as the are in every other way and it is their right as well as an inevitability that they will think all manner of things...who knows...one of us may be nearly right one day!
