There have always been terrorists. They just used to be called barbarians, bandits, brigands, pirates, or just plain psychopathic criminals.
There will always be terrorists. As long as people act out of hatred and fear, there will always be those who try to control others through fear, and try to destroy others out of hatred.
It's part of the human condition. And it won't stop until we as a species grow up and stop throwing a temper tantrum every time we don't get our way.
Violence is part of human life because we haven't figured out out to talk to each other rationally, how to be tolerant of differences, and how to act like civilized beings. It's not just the Middle East. It's everywhere. And it will be until we, as a species, take a stand and say that violence is not the answer, and that it will not be tolerated.

I'm not saying that we are doing good things in Iraq, but what are you saying should be done? Just ignore the horrific problems over there and hope they go away? If you can't see it, it isn't happening? Ignore it like we have ignored the atrocities in the Sudan where mass genocide has taken place? People are dying and we should ignore it so that we can take water on a plane? Since when is taking water on a plane a constitutional right? Having the resources to fly at all is a privilege of wealth and class, not a right. If not being allowed to take water on a plane is destroying your life, consider yourself lucky for having so few problems. How would pulling out of the Middle East stop terrorism? Most terrorists in the U.S. are not even Muslims, much less from the Middle East--remember Oklahoma City? And even if everyone does pull out right this second, it won't stop political and economic interactions, and it won't stop hatred. There are no easy solutions here, and I don't think we should oversimplify the problems.

I am tired of it too. But also tired of all the violence around the globe, the wars everywhere. Violence and war creates more violence. It's a spiral and I don't want to be in it.
yeah - that would be nice to just walk away, close the door and let them do. Have them exercise their extreme islamist ideas. Whatever - if this is what they prefer.
But....it just does not work like that because - the whole middle East is rich with oil and we need it. We need it more than anybody. Also - honestly - a lot of people in the West make a lot of $$$ with that and will want to keep control.
And morally - can you imagine how tragic it would be for all the families of the fallen and injured troops, how disappointing? For the whole country? If we say ok let's go home, it was in vain. We could not bring democracy and only generated more terrorists than before? Naaah - you can't do that.
So - what do you think is next?

Pull out??? Isn't that just a recipe for the problem to fester? If we weren't over there right now...what do you think they would be doing? Partying?? Not! The Iraninans and Syrians would be on the verge of obtaining Nuclear weapons and soon thereafter so would the terrorists.
I think your question is a good one....but really when will enough be enough and we (the western world) go in "no holds barred" and clean these 'sons-o-bitc#@' out...and forget about Sovereignty for countries like Iran and Syria...when???

When you withdraw from the Middle East and stop upsetting their ideals. Other than that, they'll keep right on doing what they're doing. The US troops in Iraq, are only a shorter range target for Iranian missiles if they have them. However, we are not sure if they even have weapons? A lot of you seem to be firing the gun
at a target that isn't even confirmed to have the technology you speak of. By some of you showing your fear and how you "want to wipe the Muslims from the world," your exactly as unjustified as you claim your "enemies" to be. Get over the fact that their will always be a small amount of radicals, in anything for that matter. However, if you allow them to degrade what America has stood for for years, then you grant them the victory they want, of fear and actions which could convince more people to rebel in the Middle East, and condone their actions.

Truth is, it will never go away. Today it's Islamist, 200 years ago, the British believed American revolutionaries were terrorists. Not so long ago, pre-Israel, many Jews in what was then Palestine committed bombings and murders, they were terrorists. Tomorrow, who knows, it could be Kangaroos bombing Sydney. It goes on and on, so long as someone perceives a threat or a slight there will always be those on the fringe who will use violence to get their way.
Sad but true.

It will end when the world, all the world, wakes up and fights Islamo-facists. I believe that the extermination of all Islamo-facists is the only solution, you cannot bribe them, you cannot appease them. They are brain washed from childhood to hate and to kill those who are Jewish and those who will not convert to Islam(their fanatic Nazi version). To sum it up, it will not go away by leaving them alone, they are coming to America and the World, actually, they are here and they are spreading their hate filled murderous doctrine to any disaffected Muslim youth they can convince to listen.
If they would stay in their own countries and continue to kill their own people, I would agree, but they won't, they follow dogma from the 7th Century.... the teachings of a man beset with seizures and visions.
Everyone who thinks clearly and accepts the truth is sick of these vermin. Now, they must accept the solution before it is too late.

Suppose someone explodes a nuclear bomb and kills millions, this kind of stuff is going to seem small in comparison. Then the world is either going to descend into chaos, or a bunch of warring police states, or mass annihilation, or some kind of world government will have to result.
How do we just pull out of the Middle East? It is part of our world. We can't remove ourselves from it. And we need the oil.

You notice that the attacks that were going to take place involved the biggest supports of the Iraq war. So has this war in Iraq made us more safe or less safe. I say pull out and use the money to spend on our country to defend it the correct way. Like on Intelligence that we don't have obviously because we had to rely on the UK to stop this attack. Remember fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here. I guess we have to invade the UK know since that were these attack originated from.

Right on. We should pull out and let the crazies in the middle east blow each other to kingdom come...just leave us the hell out of it...but then we wouldn't be getting our share of all that oil money...but that's another rant.
It's not ever gonna end...but you gotta go on and enjoy your life for what it is.
