This is an historical question - the jews who now occupy what is known as Israel were expelled from that land 2000 years ago. The Arabs (Palastinians) then occupied this land, but the arabs cultural way of life is or was nomadic, therefore they tended to wander all over what is now Syria, Jordan, Palestine, and Israel. Following the end of the 1st World war and after the collapse of the Turkish empire (which previously occupied Palestine), the 'Balfour' agreement gave Palestine back to the Jews and they commenced occupiying Palestine notwithstanding that this land did not then belong to them but to the indigenous Palastinian Arabs. The U.K Government held the mandate from the League of nations (Fore-runner of the United Nations) to administer Palestine. Following the end of the 2nd World War, the jews left Europe in their droves and continued to occupy Palestine, contrary to international agreements which although so called western governments were pledged to uphold, in reality they turned a blind eye to what the jews were doing. At that point they were also Terrorists who had their own terrorist Armies (The Hagenah, Irgun and Stern Gang). It was one of these terrorist groups who blew up St: David's Hotel in Jerusalem circa 1947/1948. One of these terrorist leaders even became Prime Minister of Israel (Begum).

This is a very important question, but don't be fooled, meagain. Read the articles about this again, carefully. Note the lack of details about the basics: unnamed "terrorists", plotting to blow up unspecified flights on unspecified dates using unspecified liquids. But many details on the fear inspiring, kneejerk reaction of "you are under attack", and "give up more of your liberties in the name of safety". It almost seems like they made it up to yank our chains on this whole "terrorist threat" thing.
If you still think that "terrorists" attacked the WTC on 9/11, then watch this documentary:

Also, check out some of Charlie Sheen's comments about 9/11. (Do a search on it.)

Bad night sleep
I assume that they feel isolated due to being invited to the UK. to work and then finding nothing but racism and hatred. This has been going on so long that they feel they are closer to Muslims around the world than they do with the people of their adopted homes.
I agree that they are not looking at the bigger picture when it comes to world politics, but when you look at the world with uneducated eyes you get a biased picture. They are miss informed and angry

There is nothing personal in Muslim's disdain for unbelievers (non-Muslims). If a non-Muslim is receptive to Islam the Muslim welcomes him most heartily.
In order to understand Muslims and Islam, you should know something about the Qur'an.
Muslims have a SACRED DUTY to purge the world of fitnah. Sayyid Qutb, an Islamic scholar, writes that the world would be a utopia under Islamic theocracy. Islam is a political as well as a religious system.
Qur'an Surah Al-Anfãl 8:39
So fight them (unbelievers) until there is no more fitnah (disbelief or worship of any god but Allah) and all submit to the religion of Allah alone (in the whole world) ... And fight with them until there is no more fitnah and religion should be only for Allah
Allah commands deeds of terror by the believers against the unbelievers as the means of creating the emotion of terror in their hearts. The only reason needed for action is that "they resisted Allah and His Messenger". Such an approach to "conflict management" is nothing to be ashamed about according to Islamic understanding, but it is a basis for pride. According to Islam, it is one reason for the superiority of Muhammad over all other prophets.
Qur'an Surah Al-Anfãl (8):12-13
Recall that your Lord inspired the angels: "I am with you; so support those who believed. I will throw terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved. You may strike them above the necks, and you may strike even every finger. This is what they have justly incurred by fighting GOD and His messenger. For those who fight against GOD and His messenger, GOD's retribution is severe.(Khalifa trans.)
An example of how this translates into the Muslim mindset is from the leader of Hezbollah Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah's August 3rd speech, "As I said, we are not a regular army and we do not use the way of the regular army. We rather use the way of the guerillas. Therefore, it would be useful for us to allow them (Israelis) advance into the entrances of the villages because this will give us a chance of a direct engagement in order to inflict human and materialistic losses upon them. This is our aim on the ground. Our aim is to inflict the largest possible number of human and materialistic losses upon the enemy....It is true that we have a strong and steady volition, yet at the same time, we are full of sympathy, affection and love. We are sympathetic towards our people, our women and our children. "
Non-Muslims should try to understand that it is the Muslim's SACRED DUTY to fight in the jihad fee sybil Allah.
Qur'an Surah al-Hujurat (49):15
Mumim (true Muslims) believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad), and without doubt they strive in the cause of Allah (jihad fee Sybil Allah) with their wealth and their lives. Those! They are the sincere.
So remember, all you have to do is convert to Islam... oh yah, you can pay jizyah (protection $) according to some sources the rate would be 25% of your income.
Quran Sura Barã´ah (9):29
Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Apostle, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book (Christians and Jews), until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
(Yusuf Ali trans.)

Because Saudi Arabia allowed the US to have military bases in their country. Which, for a Muslim, is their holy land, because that's where Meca is located. It is considered a sin against Muslims everywhere.

It was a religious war to begin with. Now, its been blown out of proportion to the extent that some muslims who are fighting couldn't even answer that question! "We hate America!!!", "Americans want all muslims to die!", "Americans want to murder our children!", "Americans are the evil Allah wants us to rid of!". These are actual quotes of muslims in the middle east. The muslims in the U.K. are even worse! I don't know about you, but Im not into murder, well not children anyway, and I don't care what religion you are, as long as you don't bother me! But if I was face to face with Bin Laden, with a .44 in my hand?? What would you do?!
