I don't have a gun, but I'm not against them if they truly are used for self defense/hunting animals that will be eaten. I think they should be locked up in some kind of cabinet or safe until needed, and people who go on shooting sprees are just stupid.
I do like the idea, however, of hunters having to rent their guns on a daily basis ... good answer, Lisa. I've never heard that alternative before.

No I don't feel the need to use a gun for self defense. I do have some mace on my key chain though. I've used it before, and it worked well. The perp could not see, and I called the police. They found him too. He was the only guy stumbling around the streets screaming because his eyes were burning out.

Yes I do. I have a license to carry, so it's with me all the time. I also have one in my bedroom. I carry a gun because I'm a nurse, and work weird hours. It's not that I have one, and not know how to use it. I've been shooting since I was a kid, and still go to a range to target practice. I've moved up to Markswoman, so I incorporate something serious, into a hobby as well.

No but I'll be buying a gun pretty soon. For self defense for now I carry my husband with me. LOL!!!

no gun but I do have pepper spray, and I did take some martial arts for self defense a while back.

Yes, we have many but not necessarily for self defense, also for hunting and shooting and a few are collectors items but if they were needed for self defense, then so be it.

Got a .270 rifle but it's for hunting. My self defense is my cat. She is a terror on new people in the house.

The only people who should be allowed to have guns in thier homes are people in the law enforcement field. Hunters should have to rent them on a daily basis and have them returned on time or go to jail.
