Jim Carey had the love of his family-the most important thing to be a healthy personn able to achieve success in life esp as a small child. Bonding with the mother is especially important. When they talk of a perso that is ot was alienated all their life usually they are the misfits and often the very sick criminals for the alienation began when still Avery small child-alienated by own family which leaves life long scars.

Alienation arises in a person if he/she does not know the end of a particular action i.e to say he knows certain small percentage of the outcome of his action and obviousely he does not feel involved in the process as he dont have any control on the outcome. It may be life or any product or any service. If a person is alienated means he lacks self actualization.Your question about the success,no he cannot be successful neither I have heard of any as alienated person is one who does not have the control on the end or the oucome. So if no control on result,no success. However their is a catch, the person having the history of an alienated person, may become non-alienated rather feels involved and integrated due to certain external agent e.g sudden good news/accidentalaly accrued benefits/a freinds intervention/female inspiration ... and he explores his creativity and becomes successful.Note of caution "alienated person cannot be successful " and it is different from "the person WAS alienated" and now he is not!!!

Alienation is a point of view, not an actual state of being. Success comes with hard work, determination, and a little luck. The two have nothing to do with each other. Inventors tend to alienate themselves to keep there inventions secret but ultimately that alienation has nothing to do with whether or not they would become successful or not.

A vast majority of successful people were alienated from the so called norm. Many used the solitude to develop their ideas without the criticism of onlookers, and went on to build their own group of supporters and success.

Alienation is relative to the people one is staying with. If one can find a group of people he can communicate with, he will not remain alienated.
I think success is not much related to alienation, but more to the intelligence of the person.

Alienation is a product of the person feeling alienated.
Jim Carrey became successful when he overcame his alienation and turned his effort to comedy.
Success is a function of effort, talent and luck; alienation negates the first two and inhibits the third.

There have been many people who were abandoned and became famous later in life. The ones who come to mind would be Albert Einstein, Marlene Dietrich and Henry Kissinger, they all had some thing in common, they were all refugees!

To me alienation has got something else to do with. To me it is the passion -- the fire in ourselves that we nurture and work constantly improve upon our faith and the confidence in ourselves to be the best for the betterment of society. We have so many of such examples. Joseph Cyril Bamford (JCB) is one such man who had this in him in plenty. JCB has become a common name in excavators and heavy earth moving equipment the World over and is exporting its products to over 70 countries. He had this vision and had started in a small garage repairing electrical equipment and came to be known as JCB. JCB today the World over has become synonymous with earth-moving equipment, payloaders and excavators.

i can think of a good example: Helen Keller. after all she was deaf, blind, and mute. how much more alienated can you be. but it's when she finally came out of her shell and realized that their was a name for everything she touched that was stepped toward success.
