I have an iPod Mini that I got for my birthday last year and I can't get it to work. When I plug it into my computer iTunes doesn't even actknowledge that it's even there. And on the iPod screen it shows a battery thats low but it doesn't charge or anything. After a while it turns into the apple symbol and still nothing. And my iHome that I can plug it into won't even play any songs and it says there is nothing plugged in. I tried going to the Geek Squad but even they couldn't do anything to help me. The friggen Geek Squad! Is it hopeless? I have a psp but I don't have enough memory to play all my songs I want and play games and go online at the same time. So I was wondering if anyone had any idea of what is wrong with my iPod and what I should do with it. I have a feeling I should just get a new battery but we don't have the reciept to ship it in.

if your ipod is out of warranty (more than a year i think) then you can reset it. the software might have been corrupted. read the instruction manual on how to do this. basically you're going to wipe the entire thing and re-install the software from the beginning. you'll lose all your songs on there but hopefully you have them backed up somewhere. do you have an apple store near you? if so i'd take it to them and ask questios about resetting it. if not i'd wipe it and start over.

dont you notice that everyone who got iPods last year now have broken iPods, its because after a year, iPods die. you are gonna have to get a new iPod. but instead you should really get this. http://www.creative.com/products/mp3/zen...
it is so much better then an iPod, for starters it plays WMAs as well as MP3, the iPod only plays very specific MP3, since WMAs are half the size of MP3, that means the zen will hold twice as many songs. on top of that the creative comes with more memory for less money.

iPod - $300 - 20GB - 10,000 MP3s

Vision M - $300 - 30GB - 15,000MP3s, or 30,000 WMAs

the iPods hardly play any file types. the zen will hold any file at all and play it flawlessly, the iPod will only hold very specific files, ussually not the files you have. also creative doesn't force you to use itunes, you can use the softare supplied by creative and you can also use the "my computer" window. also the creative zen actually comes with a wall charger, so you dont have to have a compatible computer to charge the thing on vacation. the zen's battery life is longer, and also the zen wont become a vegetable after a year like iPods do. the zen has an FM tuner, the iPod doesn't. the zen has much better picture quality then the iPod, not that you will ever see videos on your iPod without buying $100 worht of software. the apple customer support will ignore and neglect you also. while creative's customer support is very helpful, not that ive ever had to call over this product. the iPod is a product that isn't designed to work right out of the box. all the features are disabled, you can't use it without putting much work towards it, this is because the iPods are more of a fashion accessory, they are a trend not a music player. if you want a player that will work right out of the box, a player in which all of the features function perfectly immediately. get the creative zen vision M

trust me, i know what im talking about. i have owned both of these products. i bought an iPod video at first, then returned it for the creative zen, best move i ever made.

Try this website to fix your iPod, it's how I fixed my iPod: depot.info.apple.com/ipod/
If it doesn't work, and your warranty is up, then I guess you'll have to buy a new iPod; they replaced the minis because lots of them were breaking shortly after a year. I hope you can fix it!

Is it offered song? I had this take place for awhile on all offered songs. i finished up having to "deauthorize" my laptop to play against my account and then reauthorize it, then re-sync my iPod and that fixed it. good success!
