Morning sickness is very common early in a pregnancy. It tends to go away later in pregnancy, and it's almost always gone by the second trimester (the fourth month). But there isn't a set time for it to stop because each woman is different, and each pregnancy is different.

The tips below may help reduce morning sickness.

Eat small meals throughout the day so that you're never too full or too hungry.
Avoid rich, fatty foods.
Avoid foods with smells that bother you.
Eat more carbohydrates (plain baked potato, white rice, dry toast).
Eat saltine crackers and other bland foods when you feel nauseous.
Try gelatin desserts (Jell-O), flavored frozen desserts (popsicles), chicken broths, ginger ale (nondiet), sugared decaffeinated or herbal teas, and pretzels.
The iron in prenatal vitamins can bother some women. If you think your morning sickness is related to your vitamins, talk with your doctor and he or she may change your vitamins.
Wearing "acupressure" wrist bands, which are sometimes used by passengers on boats to prevent sea sickness, may help some women who have morning sickness. You can buy the bands at boating stores or travel agencies.

If the measures above don't provide you with enough relief, let your provider know so you can get the help you need. If your nausea and vomiting is getting worse, waiting too long to take appropriate medication may make it more difficult to treat.

Your provider will likely suggest that you try taking vitamin B6. No one knows why B6 eases nausea in some expectant mothers, but research indicates that it works for some women and it's consistently been shown to be safe when taken in commonly recommended doses.

Call your provider if you haven't been able to keep anything — including fluids — down for 24 hours.

You may have a condition called hyperemesis gravidarum — literally, "excessive vomiting in pregnancy." This condition can be difficult to manage, but the sooner you're diagnosed and begin treatment, the more likely you'll be able to avoid severe symptoms.

.Morning sickness usually subsides by the 3rd month of pregnancy.

If you are still having problems with it, there are a few home remidies you can try.

Saltines and milk, nibble on a few saltines and take tiny sips of milk.

As crazy as this sounds, Potato chips and lemonaid.
Something about the salt and the lemon juice helps with morning sickness.
Again, nibble on the chips and take small sips of the lemon aid.

Once you can hold down the chips or crackers, eat small meals through out the day.

Try taking your prenatal vitamins at night before bed,
Sometimes they can irratate the stmach making it hard to hold food down.

Try drinking some Carnation instant breakfast, or they even have shakes made with extra nutrition for expecting moms.

If all of these fail, speak with your obstatrician IMMEDIATLY!
Your baby is not getting enough nutrition and this can cause serious problems.

Good luck!

Some thoughts for you:

Keep a little something on your stomache at all times. Don't let your tummy get empty. BUT.....DO NOT eat big meals. Just small snacks every couple of hours all day long.

Some foods that help some moms who have morning sickness: ginger ale, ginger candy, gingerbread cookies, saltine crackers, tomato juice, buttermilk, lemonade, water with lemon, lemonade popsicles, drinking mint teas, sucking on peppermints, Jello, sipping clear broths, protein foods.

Some moms find that their PNV's make them sick. Try taking them in the evening instead of the morning as that helps some mothers. Also, some moms (me included!) find that taking 2 children's chewables (like Flintstones vitamins) works better for them.

Have your hubby bring you some food before you even get out of bed in the morning or keep a package of saltines on your bedside table. When you wake up to pee at night, get a few sips of water and eat a cracker so you don't wake up with an empty belly in the morning.

Wearing seasickness bands helps some mothers as well.

I think that the phase that you are looking for is "throw up".
Talk to your doctor there is some medication that you could take to stop being sick.
There is an actual medication condition that some pregnant woman get that cause them to be sick through their entire pregnancy. It has a big long medical name, but it can be harmful to the baby, because being sick all the time can cause a lack of nutrients that the baby needs. Talk to your doctor and in the mean time drink lots of water and try to eat as much as you can. I have found that keeping my stomach full really helps.

Try taking a B complex vitamin. B6 is very helpful in reducing morning sickness. I took it with my first and had no morning sickness at all. With my second I wasn't taking it and started getting really sick. After I started taking it, within a few days I only had very slight nausea. If I skipped a few days, it would come back again in full force but as soon as I took B vitamins again, I would feel fine within a short while. During the early part of pregnancy I took it 2 to 3 times daily with meals. Later in pregnancy I only took it once daily. Good luck! I hope you feel better soon.

I really hate to say this, I was sick for 9 months straight. Food and I did not get alog with my first pregnancy, I eat a meal, vomit and go eat another plate and hope it stayed down. Check with your doctor on your next vist and make sure you are getting enough nutrition, the cross your fingers and hope it ends soon. Best of luck to you and take it from me, even if it does last the whole pregnancy, ITS WELL WORTH IT.

My "morning sickness" lasted until the day my son was born. The smell of most anything would send me vomiting. So it lasted the better part of 9 months. There is no way to really tell every woman and baby are different.

Its normal but be sure not to let yourself dehydrate. Try hard to find a way to keep fluids down. Water, Sprite... whatever. Just dont dehydrate, it could land you in the hospital. Are you taking prenatal vitamins? If you are consider not taking them everyday. They could be the problem.
