Why would we be in greater danger if we left? What could those 100,000 or so troops in Iraq do against the Iranians if they did have an ICBM? Nothing. The war is a waste of money which could be better used for things other than military warfare, which is far outdated in the current struggle with the opposition we are facing. The Industrial Militarization complex President Eisenhower warned of when he left office was to not become fixated on defense and war, because ultimately the economy would come crashing down... Think, if the government becomes too involved in the Middle East, we lose funding for programs that are in the area of welfare, etc. Without any coverage for anything but defense the government effectively will lose it's power. We would become a modern example of what happened to the Spartans.

Your question, & sherr ma des, & bereal1's answers are kinda funny. There are many countries that are enemies of the US. It comes with being a super-power. America cannot fight every country that are a threat. They will go broke. N.Korea & Iran are more of a threat than Iraq ever was. If they attack the US or some serious threat arises, like China begin hostilities against the US, America will not be able 2 suppress this threat because a lot of their military & financial resources will be depleted owing 2 this unnecessary Iraq war. Why do u think that the US do not use force against Iran & N.Korea? How many wars can the US fight at the same time? What if Russia start its threats again? America is making itself vulnerable 2 its enemies by wasting their military & financial resources in a war that never should have started. So au contraire, America is in more danger by not leaving Iraq than it is by staying. And to sherr des mas, what do Iraq have 2 do with 911.

people are getting tired of the war, it has drug on for quite some time now and by all appearances hasn't gained much ground. people might be more willing to continue to support the cause if there were more info on the progress that has been made, but when all you read out of the papers are how many soldiers have dies it is very discouraging. unfortunately most people don't understand that you can't just leave a war. there would be many implications, and as far as the Iraqi's not wanting us there, it's true they don't, but they also understand that they need us there, we may be the only obstacle preventing civil war

if america didnt defend self .then other countries would have already came and took over america a long time ago .i think people seem to have forgotton what happen on 9/11 what they did to us.yes i think after we went and did what we suppose to do maybe we should have came back home.(i dont really know) .all i know is its getting bad out there and worse everyday.

Did us being in Iraq stop this recent terror plot or was it intelligence and police work? Did these guys in the UK stop plotting on us because we invaded Iraq or did they start plotting on us because we invaded Iraq, and on top of this all WE the USA did not stop this attack from occurring it was the Brits so how safe are we if we have to depend on other countries to stop attacks from happening here? Please help me understand how bombing Iraq and Fighting Insurgent help to make us safer because I don't see it.
