Hell yeah all the time especially being a person of color. They see that I'm black and have on baggy clothes or even when I'm dressed up that I come from the ghetto or that I am ghetto. Because I don't talk properly that I am not educated. So there is two sides of me, the "white america" side where I finish my sentence, dress "sophisticated", and use words that come straight out the dictionary. Then there's my "ghetto" side were I don't finish sentences or words for that matter, I talk loud, dance ,sing and just have a good time with my peoples. Sometimes you do have to hide who you are to make it in this world especially a person of color, and any other person who is "different" from societies "standards" I hate that it has to be that way but hey as I tell my homies " I ain't wurrid bout what no one gotta say bout me, er'body got dey on life ta live, ya no." translation: "I am not worried about what anyone has to say about me, everybody has their own life to live.

Of course there's more to you than what people see. Unfortunately, most people make assumptions about others simply by judging their appearance (you'd never think you'd see the Hell's Angels doing volunteer work at the Special Olympics, would you? I HAVE seen it). That's a drag that you feel like you can't be real around your friends. You should be yourself and you shouldn't apologize for who and what you are. They shouldn't judge you by what you do or don't do, what you say or don't say, what you believe or don't believe, etc. Do your best to be yourself and develop some attitude -- if anyone doesn't like you just the way you are, that's their problem, NOT YOURS.

You will learn that you have to pick and choose who you can do what with. Unfortunately, it took me a long time to learn that cause I'm one of those "what ya see is what ya get" kinda people. You do have to protect your feelings with some people and of course there is always more to everyone than what others see. Sounds like you are a little depressed about something. It will pass and you should learn a little more as time goes by.

Of course there is! Are you just a pretty skin wrapped around nothing in side you? NO! You have a heart and a soul and a personality that is all your own! People can like you for your outside appearance, but hate you for what you are inside. If they hate you for your inside, then they hate the real YOU.
I hope this helped.

Of course. All emotions. Faith, beliefs, loves, hates, weaknesses, fears. The list goes on and on.
I know what you mean about having trouble being yourself. I don't think I even know who I am yet. I believe we have all been molded from something or someone. There are very few people I know that seem real to me.

Of Course! When you are around your friends make sure that you are yourself, and not pretending to be someone that you are not. Too many times when I made friends travelling I pretended to be someone I am not, and I dont talk to those friends anymore. Good luck!

Yea Iknow what you mean, like you only wanna show part of yourself because the other half is a side you don't think anybody will like you if you show your whole self and when you don't you feel like part of you is missing. Yea I so know what you mean.

Yes, I think at some point in time everyone feels that way. For me most people just see my looks or my body; it's up to me to let them know there's more for them to get to know.
