Yes - but only since there are twins in YOUR family. It comes only through the females, a man has no bearing on this. For instance, you have twins in your family, so you are more likely to have twins. Your boyfriend has twins in his family, so his SISTERS are more likely to have twins. It does not have any affect through him, so it does not 'double' your chances or anything, understand? If your boyfriend had kids with someone with no family history of twins, they would not have any better chance because of him. Hope it turns out how you want!

Yes it is very possible the twin gene runs in the female side. I think though things like this can skip a generation so if you have a daughter then it would be more likely that she has twins. When you go for your ultrasound the radiogropher should be able to tell you.

From everything I have read about twins. Identical twins are not hereditary because this is when the egg splits itself and was only fertilized by one sperm. However, if fraternal twins run in the family it is very possible because they are hereditary due to the fact that you have two eggs releasing at once and they both are fertilized. Good luck and congrats.

Twins are a trait usually associated with the female genetic background. If you have a family history of twins, there is an increased chance of you having twins. Your boyfriend's family history will not affect the chances of twins in your pregnancy, but if you have daughters it would increase their chances of having twins.

It looks like you may have twins at some point in your life. Your doctor should be able to tell you at this stage if it is twins or not. You can tell by blood work, by ultra sound, or by that Doppler thing that your doctor uses to listen to the baby's heart.

It is very possible considering you both have twins in your family.

The best way to see is go through the family history of who had twins and see if there is a pattern. In most cases like this there is a pattern, you just have to recognize it.

CONGRATS!!

There's a strong possibility that you might have twins. You can get a quantitative blood test for hCG done or an ultrasound to find out if that's the case.

The man has very little to do with you having twins - it'll just depend on how may eggs you produced. Most women only produce one egg. And then of-couse how many got fertilized. Good Luck and Best wishes with the little one(s)!
