It's called terrorism for a reason. The Moslem extremists can’t win a conventional battle and refuse to negotiate so the only way left for them to fight is to break the will of their enemies. They hope that if they make the average people nervous enough then they will vote to stop fighting the terrorists giving victory to the terrorists.
When the IRA was bombing England, the British government refused to negotiate with the terrorists. Shin Fin, the political party of the IRA, tried to open talks but the British government was firm. The only way they would talk with the IRA was after the IRA stopped using terrorist tactics. That happened and peace came to Northern Ireland for the first time in over a century. (I have heard that the peace may not be holding though, if that isn’t just a rumor could you email me).
Iran wanted to develop the atomic bomb. The first time they did it the Israel Air Force bombed the plant into nothing, so now they are building their plant so deep underground that it will probably take a nuclear bomb to destroy it. Iran hates the US and the Western governments, because they supported the Shaw of Iran. The Shaw was a brutal dictator, like Sadam. He had to be to keep the civil war between the Sunni and the Shiites under control. When he fled the country an extreme religious government took over with the West as their major enemies. Egypt and Syria hated Israel and were planning to go to war in the 1960s. Israel beat them to the punch. In the Six Day war, Israel kicked Egypt’s rear end HARD. Israel then turned around and kicked Syria in the teeth. Egypt eventually made peace, but Syria hasn’t. Since Iran and Syria can’t beat Israel in a fair fight they fight a proxy war. Hezbollah was founded by Iran in 1982. Its sole mission is “to drive Israel into the sea.” Its first major terrorists act was the bombing of the US Marine barracks in Lebanon. They did this because the US was leading a UN Peacekeeping force, in an attempt to end the war. Hezbollah didn’t want to stop, so they resorted to terrorism. It worked, the US withdrew, the UN gave up and that started a long bloody war. Israel invaded and all but destroyed Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. Hezbollah just hid and rebuilt itself. Did you notice how after Hamas started fighting Israel and when Israel started making progress all of a sudden Hezbollah began its rocket barrage? It is clear the terrorist groups are working together.
Terrorism does work. It makes people like you and me afraid to travel, and that effects how we vote. The US and the UK have to spend a lot of money on defense, in case of terrorist attacks, that takes money away from other things—like fighting the terrorists. The bombing in Madrid Spain worked exactly as the terrorists wanted. In the next election there was a change in government and the Spanish quickly pulled out of Iraq. The Geneva Convention and the rules of war outlaw this kind of activity. No country will ever be allowed to carry out an attack like the London Blitz again. The terrorists are ignoring these rules and doing whatever they want so they can strike terror into the hearts of the citizens of the Western countries.
So the situation isn’t going to change anytime soon. Israel can kick Hezbollah into pieces, and they will just run and hide, waiting to rebuild their power and threaten Israel again. The US could never win the Vietnam War for similar reasons. China and the Soviet Union were backing North Vietnam, so as long as they were willing to fight they would keep getting arms. The US refused to invade the North because that might get China and the Soviet Union involved. In the Korean War that is exactly what happened. General McArthur had almost kicked the communists off of the Korean peninsula when China invaded. The Chinese hit the Americans hard and drove them back into South Korea. Therefore the Vietnam War was doomed. The NVA and Viet Cong quickly realized that they couldn’t defeat the US in a conventional war so they turned guerilla. The war was fought with small units and the North Vietnamese avoided concentrating their troops. When they had to concentrate they went underground to escape the bombing, and to hide. They stuck it out, and eventually the US had to quit. Even if he public supported the war, the cost was getting higher and higher so at some point that support would turn sour. The US is seeing that happen in Iraq. The American people are fed up with the Iraqis and want to leave. If the US does though then Iran will put a religious government into place to fill the vacuum. The same thing happened in Afghanistan. So the US and the UK are stuck in another no-win situation.
A similar situation exists in the Middle East. To really beat the terrorists Israel has to stop them at their source. So they have to attack Syria and Iran however, if they do then they risk sending the entire region into war; a war that will drag in the rest of the world, because we all need the oil from the region. So Israel fights a limited war, and as long as they do that the terrorists will be able to strike, hide and then strike again. Thanks to the pounding the Israelis gave the Lebanonise government their military is weaker than Hezbollah so Lebanon can’t control Hezbollah either.
For a long time the IRA was receiving help from Irish Americans. They thought that their money was going to help the poor Irish people. They did not know that most of it was going to fund the IRA’s terrorist activities. England kept pleading with the US to stop this, and it took a long time before the US people finally realized what they were supporting. After that funding started drying up the IRA tried to negotiate with the British Government. The Moslem terrorists enjoy similar support from the other Arab countries, especially from our “friend and ally” Saudi Arabia.
Hamas and Hezbollah are support organizations for the people as well as terrorists organizations. With the recent attacks in Lebanon aid has been cut off. Now Hezbollah is opening up its supplies and providing aid; food, medical supplies and so on. Therefore the average Moslems favor Hezbollah, and allows them to hide inside the population. The Palestinians see Hamas as a social organization; they build schools and hospitals and even provide unemployment insurance. They do this to earn the respect of the Moslems, which generates contributions, and allows them to keep fighting. As long as the terrorist organizations do this then they can fight and then hide, in the population, whenever the fighting gets too tough (Which is why the US and UK governments call them cowards). The average Moslem favors the people that help them so they see Israel as the enemy. Israel would like to make a lasting peace, but the terrorists groups are preventing it and until the Moslem population gets wise to what they are doing the situation will continue. This is why the “War on Terrorism: is hard to fight. You have to cover your back and everywhere else, because the terrorists only need to get lucky once. You can’t find the terrorists to hit them directly, and if you somehow do, then the rest run and hide. The terrorists won’t stop fighting as long as they can get support and angry people to join their ranks. Iran and Syria are happy to provide that support. A lot of the Middle East also contributes. They think that they are helping the people, and they are, but a lot of that money is diverted into the terrorist attacks. If you can find a terrorist position and attack it then their will always be extra (collateral) damage. That makes more people angry so they join the terrorist groups. Thus the cycle of violence continues and we have to suffer for it.
The rockets that Hezbollah is firing into Israel are unguided (missiles are guided, which is why they are the main weapon used by the UK and the US). The terrorists care less where they land and who they hurt. Many hit the cities and cause a lot of damage. A few hit empty fields and cause fires, which the Israelis have to fight. Since anyone in range of the rockets is a possible target all the people are scared. The soldiers feel angry too because they can’t stop the rockets and it is hard to predict where they will land.
If the war were confined to the Middle East then it would be easy to forget. There has been a lot of bloodshed in Africa. Civil wars and wars of ethnic cleansing, but the Western World cares little about the conflict. The terrorists know this so they attack Western countries just so they can terrorize the population. Again they don’t care who they hit, just as long as they kill a lot of people. The Middle East is rich in oil and that means a lot of money, a good deal of that is funneled into the terrorist organizations. With that money they can afford to keep running attacks against the West. There are a lot of attacks that fail but the general population doesn’t hear a lot about this. We only hear about the attacks that succeed or come close to succeeding. The terrorists are threatening you, your children and me in the hopes that we will cast our votes to pull our countries out of the Middle East. They threaten us to keep us scared and concentrating on their threat. They threaten our countries so they have to spend more on defense. They attack civilians because it is harder to defend a civilian target. Soldiers can die in combat and in peace. It is part of the price of being a soldier. Civilians don’t expect to die except through old age, sickness, and accidents. By attacking the civilians the terrorists generate fear, and by making seemingly random targets everyone gets frightened.

I'm just glad the news is that they caught 21 people not that they know there are 21 people out there. I would say right now airplane travel is going to be the safest way to go, more than it already was. No one is going to try something on a plane now, when they have to go through all the security. I would be more worried about what the secondary plan was, not what the primary plan was. Terrorism is there to terrorize and that is what they are doing, just pack your bags differently and get there earilier and everything else will be fine.

It is very scary for anyone to fly or leave their homes anymore. I do not know what we all can do it seems if we do nothing it gets worse and when we intervene its even more brutal. If we knew what their thought process was it would be easier to make decisions or know what direction to go in, but nothing seems to matter. I think and as sad as it is, we need to put our foot down and not let anyone in our country anymore for the first time or return once they leave to maybe stop all of the chaos? I know that closes a lot of doors and creates issues but we have to protect our children and ourselves.
We need to allow the other countries to rely on themselves and let us fend for ourselves as well since we all can’t get a long and love each other no matter what our differences are or the circumstance is. That is very sad we cannot unite and be there for each other so what other options do we have at this point for the best interest of everyone as well as their safety?

Please be careful with your "they" -- this is a relatively small group of people who are doing these things, not some whole, big group.
There are many legitimate complaints against the US, UK, and Israel, which have not been redressed. The US and UK, in effect, started war on the Arab/Muslim world when they invaded Iraq, for example. The powerless have no recourse that they can see. Some, pumped up by brutal leaders, take violent action against innocents as revenge and in a desire to get the west to knock it off.
After all, the UK, over the years, has behaved ruthlessly toward people of the middle east, in order to profit from their oil.
Try to remember that it is extremely unlikely that you or those you love will be hurt by these actions. You are at greater risk every time you get in your car, than you are from terrorists.

What everyone needs to understand is that no one is saying "Stay home, block your doors"! If you are aware more, it might save your life. If something looks fishy, or out of place, or if someone is acting really strange, then you should pay attention and not just ignore it. Many of us see weird things every day, but having an awareness of what is going on around you could save you and your families lives. We have had a lot of people in Toronto lately killed, almost daily, because they are not paying attention to what they are doing. Almost every day a pedestrian is killed, mainly because they step out in front of a car while listening to their I-Phone, or are in a hurry, or "the Light was green, I just walked, instead of looking first". People get lazy, and accustomed to a routine, get complacent, and that's when they can lose their lives very easily.

I think it is time for all people of peace - Muslim, Christian, Jews, Hindus, pagans .... - to come forward and denounce the terrorists & their cowardly illegal & inhumane acts.
Contact the authorities with any suspicious activities you are aware of.
These terrorist cowards deserve thetime in Hell they will surely receive. They will get to have a lot of one on one time with Satan. The Great Satan is not the west but the false prophets they have been listening to.

If you are too scared to do what you want to do, then they have "won".
DO NOT be afraid to carry on with your life, take reasonable precautions, but don't let the b******s get to you.
We Brits need to act with some backbone here, and not be a bunch of wimps.. Think about what our grandparents went through in WW2, and how we didn't cower to the IRA.. That's what makes us British and proud of it.
