I went to the back room where my grandma watches tv and I didn't even know what the world trade center was (i was 13). I saw the first plane crash, and then to my horror, the next, and then 2 more after that. I was really scared and didnt want my dad to go to work that day.

I thought it was very important for us all to remember from time to time. We're all so caught up in our daily lives that it is important to remember a day that changed the world.

I was at work. I kept seeing people walk in the break room and not come out. Finally I reached a point in my work where I could take a break. Out of curiosity I went to the break room. I walked in and looked at the TV just in time to see the second tower fall. I have always known that terrorists were dangerous, but my opinion changed on that day, like so many other Americans. The shock and horror of that event set my resolve that terrorism can no longer be allowed to continue unchallenged. I have not wavered in that conviction for a moment since.

This is sort embarrassing ..... But we didn't know about 9/11 until 2 hours after the attacks!
My husband was working afternoon shift that week .. so we decided to get the living room furniture changed around that morning... so our tv & sterio were unplugged for a while... We didn't turn the tv or radio when we were finished cuz we just put in some cds & finished cleaning... We found out when his brother called us. He asked me what I thought about the planes flying into the towers? Well his brother was always a goof ball & a prankster/joker & loved to make up stupid crap to see what I would buy into.... So naturally I thought he was pullin my leg.
Until he said fine don't believe me.. Haven't you guys watched tv!!!! Our answer was no & so we turned on the tv & couldn't believe our eyes! We were angry, sad, horrified in disbelief, scared.. .. So many emotions all at once & not on of them were good. I was scared & wanted him to stay home from work.. but he couldn't...
Pretty much everything in the lil' hick town, we were living in at the time, had red white & blue atleast in one window by the.. if not plastered everywhere, by the next day! The flags on the trucks & cars, the mile long strings of bikers all with flags on them, showing support for our country & it's people.
I loved the patriotism & love everyone showed & felt for this country! Everyone was united & agreed on 1 thing atleast for a few days!!
That this was uncalled for, murderous attack on innocent people IN OUR COUNTRY!!!! & that these terrorist were gonna pay! (until the libs showed up with their sympathy for the enemy & anti American agendas)
.. it is very sad & unfortunate that it took an attack of such magnitude to wake people up & for them to be thankful for living in a great, FREE country.
Everyone should reflect & remember 9/11
Have they forgotten?

I was taking a standardized test in 7th grade. All I heard was an announcement about a moment of silence about a plane crash into a building in New York. I was like "What's the big deal? Plane's crash. If we had a moment of silence for every single one, what would we get done during our lives?" I was a bit confused. I got home. Turned on the T.V. I've never understood what was happening better than what I did that afternoon.

I happened to take the day off from work and my now husband and I spent the day together and when the announcement come across, we were horrified because our very young children were in Kindergarten and 1st grades and we were not allowed to pick them up because they were on lock down. Bus service was stopped and we had to pick them up from the school after the alert was announced, with a piece of ID and their birth certificates. It was horrifying. At that time I wondered what would become of this. Here we are 6 years later in a bigger terrorist mess/situation than we were in then. Scary, I think its time for a change in a lot of ways because this system is obviously not working nor safe for anyone.

Wow I can't believe how long ago that was. I didn't really know what the 'World Trade Center' was either, because I, too, was fairly young. I went into the bandroom before school started and some kid was talking to my band director about what was on the news this morning.
I didn't really understand it at the time. I was just horrified that someone had actually attacked us.

I was being discharged from the Veteran's Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi which is located next door to Keesler Air Force Base...all heck broke loose and security was immediately tightened. Was afraid my family would not be able to get in to pick me up. There was an elderly Hungarian Dr. there who had been through WWII. He and I just walked around the grounds silently and then I asked him...Does this bring back bad memories? All he could do was hang his head and whisper..Yes.

I was still sleeping. When I got up I decided to go to the store and seen a friend of mine he told me what happened . Sence I didn't put on the tv or the radio I didn't realize what happened . So at first I didn't believe him. Until I went down the block and heard someone else talking about it.
