We have roaches coming out of the drain in our tub...any tips on getting rid of them without damaging the pipes?

Pour Clorax down the drain. It shouldn't hurt the pipes as it was suggested to me by a plumber who was working on my bathtub. Plug the drain overnight. Next day, run hot water through it.

If that doesn't work, then I suggest talking to a professional on what to do.

Depending upon your state, you should be able to buy a product called Dursban. In Texas it's marketed by Spectracide. The chemical comes in a concentrate and is effective when diluted to 1/2 percent in water. I use an old windex bottle to spray it under th sink and around baseboards. This chemical is the same thing that professional exterminators use.

You can spray it in and around the drain and when the roaches come in contact with it, it will kill them. This product will degrade in sunlight over time and will need to be applied after a few months.

I live on the Gulf Coast and we have all manner of creepy crawlies, but the only ones in my home are belly up.

As with any pesticide, you need to keep it away from food surfaces, and pets.
