Most networks offer free SIM cards, offers change quite often so sometimes it can be hard to get to them. The offers currently running are as follows;

Two PAYG SIM packs from Vodaphone - Spend £5 in the week and get free calls & texts at the weekends. Two SIM cards per person, with up to £2 credit free.

Unfortunately o2 arent doing the free Genie sim promotion anymore, but if you know anyone on orange, they can log onto the website and get you a free sim, if you put £10 on a month you get the 300 free texts for £20 you get 600 texts and for £30 and over you get 1000 free texts, and they dont take the money off you like they do on the genie sims, I would get one for you but I dont know you therefore I dont suppose you would give me your name and address to have one sent to you. Good Luck xxxxxxx

Genie sim cards are from o2. They're £4.99 and as long as you top up £10 a month, you get 300 free txts.
You can also go on studentfreestuff.com and they're always giving away free sim cards

A couple of days ago O2 were giving away free sim cards - advertised on the Yahoo home page. This offer seems to be advertised quite frequently.
