ask the assistants what's considered appropriate. You do not need to shell out $1000.

I gave I think $100 or $150 for my wedding.

You should add your donation for your son's baptism to the anonymous Sunday collection, then tell the priest afterwards that this is what you have done. You should be under no psychological pressure to donate ANY particular amount. Look at it another way, the catholic church will be grateful that you have chosen to introduce your son to its church rather than some competing religion.

Well, I don't know either. Tommorrow morning I think we're going to donate 100 bucks. Too bad the lady above doesn't understand why we baptise babies. Instead of being happy for you (and your beautiful baby) she wants to start a biblical arguement. It doesn't say in the bible to baptise infants, but it doesn't say to read the bible either. The church is the pinnacle of faith, and the church was built on tradition as well as the word of the Lord. Funny how one guy writes 97 reasons to not be catholic, and half of the world has bought into it. Yet they berate Mormons for doing exactly the same thing- follow one man's misguided ideas. May God bless you and your beautiful baby on this wonderful occasion.

you comprehend the catholic church isn't one among those churches that demands a particular volume of your earning for the church, i become raised a catholic, i even went to catholic college yet i'm now a baptist. i in my opinion imagine at the same time as it consists of donations to the church, the catholic church is the leanest. supply what you may have sufficient money to provide, i do not opt to provide a particular volume, yet you would possibly want to comprehend your funds, and ought to determain what's a straightforward volume to provide.

It depends on how much money you want to put in and how generous your are. I don't know much about donates to churches but if its worth it and going towards a good cause then why not put in $1000.
