One is Muslim the other Jew. One is an organization the other is a Nation. As for the definition of a terrorist consider this truism: One mans' terrorist is another mans' freedom fighter. If you need proof, consider this little fact. When Britain controlled Palestine, Jews lead by Menachem Begin (later PM of Israel) bombed the King David Hotel and killed several people, all in the name of wanting a Jewish State. Was he a terrorist or a freedom fighter?

Al-Qaeda is an underground terrorist organization with no fixed base of operations and no public leadership. Israel is a country with a democratically elected leadership who as a seat on the United Nations and an embassy in the US.

Al-Qaeda attacks civilian targets by preference, does so covertly, and with the intention of killing as many civilians as possible. And they attack primarily civilians in other countries around the world, and does so with no warning and no mercy.

Israel attacks terrorist targets almost exclusively, make every effort to avoid civilian casualties, and announces where they are going to attack in advance so civilians can get out of the way. And Israel only attack targets in response to attacks launched at them, and only to the extent necessary to stop such attacks from being launched at them. Israel is also willing to unilaterally cease fire to allow civilians to escape or to provide time for the UN to bring in multi-national peacekeeping forces.

I don't know about you, but I consider these pretty significant differences.

No, Al-Qaeda attacks specifically the innocent...such as the WTC......Israelis are defending themselves.....Al-Qaeda are cowards......Israel is not, they are out there wishing the Hezbollah would shoot at them, not their cities full of civilians......Al-Qaeda would go into the neighborhood and kill everyone....Israel wish the Hezbollah were out in the open, so they didn't have to hit civilians....Al-Qaeda hits without notice....Israel has been dropping warning to get out, and even not to drive so they won't be targets......Al-Qaeda thinks they are Gods gift to the world....Israel is....per the Bible

That is totally untrue Israel is a democracy defending itself against its neighbors who many want to wipe the nation of the map. It is sad that many on the left of politics including so called Hollywood celebs misrepresent Israel and call terrorists freedom fighters . It is true that Israel has made mistakes and innocent people have died but that's not the same as planned atrocities like 9-11.

Al-Qaeda is a terrorist organization which tries to institute change by means of coercion (violence). Israel is a sovereign nation which protects its borders and its citizens. Israel follows international law in the fighting of wars, Al-Qadea does not. Al-Qaeda deliberately targets the civilian population. Israel targets members of the group or nation it is fighting, and trying to avoid civilian casualties.

Al-Qaeda attacks first and targets civilians - Israel gets attacked first then drops leaflets in all areas to be bombed so civilians can get out. Why whats your point?

The difference is really simple.

If hezbo and the like were to stop attacking civillians while trying to blend in with civillians and give up their weaponry, they and their countrymen could live in peace.

If Israel gave up their weaponry, they would cease to exist.
