Do you think UK is better prepared now to avoid terrorist attack on its public transport system?

There was a terrorist alert today, in which MI5 raised its security level and massive checking were carried out at different airports across UK and there was also long delay of flights and London Heathrow airport was shut down for incoming flights for several hours.

If they have arrested the 21 people, then today should have been the safest day to fly.

Get rid of the reasons for terrorism, rather than knee jerk reactions to the threat.
The UK isn't prepared for anything - we are now officialy a crap hole.

Trust Tony Blair to be on holiday after having learnt of this potential threat. Well at least they foiled a plot, this time, but I really do not see how anyone can protect a transport system such as ours. People expect heavy security at airports, but on the tube? No way, if they wanted to repeat 7/7 again, it would be like taking candy from a baby. Sad but true.

I use bus and trains in central london. No extra security has been in place today that I have noticed. It appears that they are concentrating solely on Airports. So no, the majority of the public transport system has not improved......oh they did put barriers at victoria just outside the station about 3 weeks ago....does that count?

Terrorists are nothing new to the UK, we were subject to the IRA's abuse for decades.

There is a difference though, the IRA wernt willing to die for their cause, they were just gangster wannabes. These fanatics are willing to die but only because they stupidly believe they will goto heaven for killing innocents. Surely military targets would be better to your cause? Attacking innocents got the IRA no where, why are you any different?

They dont attack military targets because the innocents are and easier kill, an easier way to get into heaven with their 30 virgins.

Decades of IRA actions did nothing to turn the govenment, I suggest you give up now. But hey, keep blowing yourself up, I dont care. Funny how the mighty leaders never do it though.
