I went to a show one day. They were asking for 'donations' at the door. I had no money to give, and they said I couldn't come in. I then said that they were not asking for donations, but charging admission. She said that it was a donation. My question is- if they demand a donation, isn't that charging admission?

Donations are voluntary.

Admission is required.

The admission payments may go towards the nonprofit's bottom line and supporting its mission, but if you can't get in without it, then it's not a donation.

Which group was this, if I may ask?

I am guessing, they don't have to pay/charge sales tax on donations
there may be local laws too
-any production for admission must have 2 security gaurds, a fire marshall, blah, blah
donation skirts the issue

there is not any evaluation in any respect. John and Kate are in a position to be to blame for his or her little ones and Nadya isn't. i'm no longer likely to say undesirable issues about Nadya except that i imagine she isn't in contact with actuality. I had 2 little ones and regularly it looked like there replaced into no longer adequate time contained in the day. 24 hours in an afternoon, we require a minimum of 6 hours of sleep to operate typically. That leaves 18 hours. Feeding will take a minimum of two hours so as that is 6 hours lengthy previous, then there is bathtub time - yet another 2 hours. That leaves 10 hours to spread between 14 little ones to provide them particular one on one time. now to not prepare she is desirous to bypass to school. yet, also element of this equation there are 3 little ones with particular desires so that they take even more effective time. I understand human beings will are available in and help her, yet a strangers palms are literally not a moms palms and a strangers convenience isn't a moms convenience that an toddler desires to boost a bond and be healthful mentally. Nadya's mom is wiped out from the first 6 and he or she is beaten on the considered 8 more effective and he or she should be. i am going to't imagine the rigidity she could sense of having 14 little ones in that little abode. How lengthy do you imagine it is going to likely be in the previous she snaps? Nadya had the first 6 and her mom took care of them so for sure she theory it replaced into undemanding. money and each thing else aside, i imagine the little ones should be put up for adoption. there's a lengthy waiting record of persons searching for brand new borns who could provide them a reliable sturdy abode - something she will be in a position to under no circumstances be in a position to do. i desire Nadya receives counciling. She replaced into lonely with 6 little ones contained in the abode, I doubt 8 more effective will fill the void in her existence both. She desires to confront even with her themes are in the previous she has 8 more effective little ones for the tax payers to help.

yes, you're absolutely right. donations should not be demanded. But, it would have been nice to carry a little spare change.

It is...sort of.
Admission would be a set price and donation is whatever you want to give, $1.00 or $100.00, whatever.
