Weelll - a beautiful shirt. A good watch. A gift certificate to a massage therapist - my man's getting that for Christmas. A book by an author he likes. A piece of guy jewelry. Sports tickets. There's always the cologne thing, IF he wears it. A gift cert to a video or music store.
Gift certs are always good. They know you went to the trouble to get it, but they can choose for themselves.
My boyfriend's birthday was just recently, (the Big 40, uh-oh) and I got him a beautiful dress watch (he needed one) and my parents got him a silk aloha shirt.

What are his hobbies? Men always love personal items. If he is a fisherman, give books on lures, fishing the big bass, etc. How about hunting? There are so many gifts for men. Type in 'men's gifts' on your search engine.
