I put white grouting on the tiles of my bathroom floor, which i now know is a mistake because it has got dirty quickly! But does anyone know if i can paint over the grouting to make it darker, so the white doesnt show up marks so much? Or if i can replace it? thanks

You can buy a pen from B&Q for about £3 that will allow you to colour in your grouting. It's called a grouting pen funny enough and it comes in different colours. Althoug I dont know where you live you might battle a bit to find a Hardware store that sells them

We had a similar problem. My wife got a can of Minwax stain in the color she wanted the grout to be. She painted it on the grout and then wiped up the excess. It worked out great.

It took a little practice to know how long to let the stain set but she practiced back in a corner where it wouldn't show so much.

When we sold the house 20 years later, the grout still look good.

You can do a few things:

1. Get a grout cleaner.

2. Get a grout colour pen and go over in your prefered colour.

3. Scrape out the grout and replace. (not that hard but it is monotonous)

Personally i'd scrape it out and re grout, do a bit at a time and it'll soon be done.

I would start by scraping out the old grout and replacing it with a stain resistant one from the likes of B&Q, Wickes,Focus etc. Or you could replace the grout with the white sealant that goes around the bath. It is plastic, waterproof, and hardwearing. If there are any of the £1 shops near you, you can buy a tube of this product for a quid and another quid for the frame to squeeze it. They also do one for outside for windows, doors, etc. If it can stand our outside weather, it will be fine in a bathroom. Applying is like icing a cake, a little practise and it could be fun!.
