This can be difficult but possible.
Do you mean system restore? that is easy enough but might not solve the problem.
Goto start/All programmes/Accessories/System tools/System restore. Pretty self explanatory from there.
If that doesn't work goto google and put in the opening page title and it will give solutions or where to go for patches.

The only 100% effective option is to reformat your hard drive and reinstall your operating system. You can use a site like windowsreinstall.com for directions. If you have a brand name computer you should be able to search their site for instructions or you might even have a system restore CD with the operating system and all of the drivers for your hardware.
You can spend time using other methods like Ad-Aware, CWShredder, HiJackThis, etc. but it will take a lot of time and unless you know exactly what you're doing (which, no offense, if you did you probably wouldn't be hijacked or you'd know how to fix it), you'll not be sure if you're completely "clean."
I've helped many a people fix their computer in situations like this and the most effective and generally time efficient way is reformatting and reinstalling.
If you choose this keep in mind:
* You'll want to copy your files (documents, bookmarks, address book, music and image files) to a CD or thumb drive
* All software including your operating system will need to be reinstalled. This means you need to have the CDs for them AND the license numbers.
* This erases EVERYTHING. If you use a mail program like Outlook Express for mail, copy your mail account settings and backup your mail to a CD or thumb drive. Same with any ISP connections.
After you are back up and running you'll want to:
* make sure to set a decent password for the administrator account. Having a blank password is asking for trouble
* have sufficient software to protect you from adware, spyware, viruses, and other attacks. This is usually a combination of programs that you run every now and then (like Ad-Aware) or ones that are keeping their eyes open for attacks (like Norton Internet Security).

do not format your p.c ,this is not necesarry, follow these instructions for removal of the hijacker
1)first look in add/remove programs for any programs that shouldnt be there.they may have dot net or similar in the name, basically if you havent installed it,or its not part of windows.get rid of it,after you havve finished removing these, restart your p.c
2)go into control panel>internet options>and change the homepage to your homepage(google, yahoo, ect),remember to apply the settings and then ok
3}now run spybot(search+destroy),avalible from http://www.safer-networking.org/,and install and run this program, this will find and clean any spyware responsible for the browser hijack, once the scan is up remember to fix any problems and then check internet explorer to see if the hompage is back to normal
4)to stop any future browser hijacks why not try the 6 month yrial of f-secure(http://www.f-secure.com/protectyourpc/),this has a explorer sheild that will block any future browser hijacks and also scans for viruses, spyware, worms, trojans, rootkits
good luck

Restart your computer, on the reboot. Press F8 and select safe mode with networking...
At the desktop, Click start, run and type in msconfig... Uncheck, load startup items.... Click OK....
It will ask you to reboot.... Do so... This turns off all items started with windows...
go to magorgeeks.com... and download Adaware SE personal and Spybot Search and destory.....Run them to remove all items that it finds....
This will fix you up nicely....
If y ou don't have msconfig (not on windows 2000) you can download it off the web for free...

hi, there are virus come to your PC when you visit some unsafe sites. perhaps you can try Norton or Mcafee to remove the virus, but you should pay for the software.
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
download firefox for free:

Try downloading and running both Ad-aware and Skybot Seek&Destroy. They are available free at download.com. Between them they should be able to remove the spyware that has hijacked your PC.
