I think a medium support hose like L'eggs Sheer Energy with a sheer to waist would work well. It will give you a little support, but not to much for every day wear. Also, a sheer to waist would be a lot more comfortable than the dreaded control top. I wouldn't worry too much about people seeing up a knee-length skirt.

If the skirt goes all the way to yur knee than you should not have to worry about showing anything when you bend over. People wear the Sheer when they have to wear short skirts or shorts and they dont want the seam of the panty showing. You should were the Support hose if you can since as a waitress, being on your feet all day, you need some support for your legs or eventuallly you will start getting varicose veins.

You should definitely wear support pantyhose; it is a good 'preventive maintenance' measure, to protect your health. Since you are worried about something showing when you squat or bend, perhaps your skirt is full or flared instead of the usual A-line or tight; in which case I would recommend black spats or whatever they are called. They are lightweight, pull-on, elastic waisted. They come in different lengths and are not 'bulky'. As a result of reading of your predicament, I am glad to know that there are still a few modest people left in this world. I wish that you get a lot of tips! Good Luck!

It depends if you need extra support. If you are small I would say sheer.
