His knees really can't hold up as a catcher, that's why Baltimore signed Ramon Hernandez to be their catcher so Javy Lopez could be DH/1B (1B very rarely). He's mostly known for his offense which has taken a dive the last two years, but its still better than what Varitek was doing offensively for you guys this year. What would you have the Red Sox do? Play Mirabelli everyday? Give the guy a break, he hasn't caugh for Beckett or the others before, do you really expect him to catch for them perfectly? He's also experienced enough to call a good game for your pitchers.

Do you think maybe he's intimidated because of stepping in Jason's shoes?? And don't forget, he had to stare at Josh Beckett all last night.! That surely would make me mess up some wild pitches!!

I hope he relaxes and gets the job done. Remember, redsoxfan, he has just joined the BEST MLB team around!! he's scared!!

GO RED SOX!!

Oh, I'm so upset that you're trying to report me. Can't you see how much I'm crying that a Red Sux fan chooses to report me because they have no backbone? Funny, but Yahoo hasn't deemed fit to notify me of abuse, so obviously your reporting is merely wasting your time.

And it's funny that you're blaming your catcher for wild pitches. By definition, wild pitches aren't the catcher's fault. Passed balls are the catcher's fault. It's not Lopez's fault that Beckett can't pitch.

Get some knowledge of the game.

Javey Lopez is a very good player I think you will see that. I have seen him hurt the Yankees quite a bit in the past

Go Yankees!!!

hes past his good days but theres stilll something left in him. i would take him over mirabelli cuz mirabelli isnt as good as a defensive catcher as javy. and you cant miss a wild pitch because if its ruled a wild pitch than its the pitchers fault...a passed ball is the catchers fault.

Javy Lopez was the Orioles' albatross.

Now he's yours.

He's no Jason Varitek!

Oh, man, give the guy a break...he just needs time to adjust.
I LOVED him when he was on the Braves, was heart-broken when they got rid of him, and am now seriously considering being a Boston fan just because of him. He has his good days and bad, just like everyone else.
And he's the freakin' HOTTEST baseball player out there!!!
God, he's gorgeous!
(Aren't the Red Sox pretty much done, anyway???)

Javy is over the hill...He's past his prime when he was Atlanta. But i rather have him then whatshisface that played in the Tampa game. He's the only option we have for now.
