There is potential for that to be staph or strep which could lead to you losing your finger or toe (or more). Without actually seeing it, no one here can tell you if its dangerous or not. Go see a doctor, I know it seems like a little stupid thing but seriously better safe than sorry when you are talking about losing limbs.
BTW Fungus IS NOT green, bacterial infections are green. Fungal infections make your nails yellow, thick and spongy on the underside.

Sorry, but you need to get the false nail removed, or the infection will only get worse. Go to a chemist for advice asap.

Sounds like a fungus. Go see your doctor. He'll put you on antibiotics. It will probably take several months to completely go away though.
