High street. They are just as good as designer these days with very similar styles but for a fraction of the price! Fashion changes so often anyway, why anyone (rich or not) would spend hundrends on an item of clothing that would be old and out of date in 2 months time is beyond me!

A high street wardrobe with a few designer classics is good.
There are loads of great high street stores but there are also some that sell absolute rubbish - which doesn't last/wash well/hang right etc....
You get what you pay for at the end of the day. High street is brilliant for everyday wear but the odd designer piece/outfit for special occasions makes you feel great

High Street everytime, Designer gear unless its very very expensive and understated, looks a bit tacky and branding all over the place, no not for me.
However I do own a mulberry handbag, which I adore and looks like new still even after three years of faithful service. So maybe just a couple of little bits dont hurt!!!

Go to the sales and you can pick up designer bargains. I bought a really nice vest in Harvey Nichols it was 150 and I got it for 30 quid, never heard of the designer though, but it looks really nice and I wear it with my high street combats.....mix and match is the key but not paying through the nose prices.

High street wins hands down every time!
People who walk around in obvious designer bling are probably paying for it by credit card and are only wannabes!
The people with the real money will wear designer but wear it with class and understated!

All you are paying for no matter where you go is the label. You pay to promote highstreet or designer gear. Either way it's a win win situation for all concerned.

in case you had to do it perhaps on background designers, try Biba and Mary Quant. you may do nicely with those, and make very exciting paintings. in case you desire as much as this factor, try Selfridges, Jane Norman and Zara.
