How do I proceed? In my previous question, I noted that he let me know he was extremely busy with work (holds a very responsible position in an extremely competitive field), was out of town for the weekend, etc. I've contacted him via email and text (once each) with just sort of light "checking in" language...but have not received a response. Time to write him off?

Yes. It's definitely time to move on. Or at least chill. Don't make any more attempts to contact him, as the ball is now in his court. No matter how busy he is, there's no excuse not to write at least a 15 second e-mail response, or text.
Don't wait for him to contact you - Go out and have fun, and enjoy yourself. Focus on your own goals and doing what makes you happy. If he calls, after listening to what he has to say to explain himself it's up to you to decide if you want to give him another chance or not. But if you do, make sure you let him know that his neglect is unacceptable and that you will not tolerate it.

Once a Capricorn is done with someone---they are done!!
It some times takes a lot of thinking for the Capricorn but once they have made their decision --- they do not go back--to that person--you can keep trying but--I can tell you now--this person is not thinking about you at all--I mean at all-not at all-
keep Really Busy for about 3 months and you will find after 3 months you will have no feeling for this person

Capricorns are very workaholic indeed and tend to ignore us (I'm with Capricorn too) But I suggest dun write him off so soon. Why not try calling him (after working hours or weekends) and talk to him about how you feel, and see from there..

in our country we are innocent until proven guilty! let him come to you, don't chase him. if he doesnt come to you, then find someone else. he may be tryging to tell you hes not interested or found someone else or just very busy. but even if hes busy, he should at least drop a line and say alls hello. i think you should move on, but i don't know him. follow your heart, it already knows, listen to it!!!

yes, get a virgo, they will love you to death, but can be really neat with their stuff and expect you to be neat as well, but they love to serve you, clean, do laundry etc.
